All wireless users need an LSUHSC UserID and password. All images are taken from the Vista Classic View.
Steps to set up wireless access at LSUHSC-Library using Windows Vista configuration (not Windows XP or Intel PROSet):
Go to: Windows Button (Start) \ Control Panel \ Network and Internet \ Network and Sharing Center.
In the Task Window (on left), choose Manage wireless networks |  |
Click on the Add button in the next window.
Select Manually create a network profile

Fill in as follows:
Network name: LSUHSC
Security type: 802.1x
Encryption type: WEP
Security Key/Passphrase: leave blank
Check box that states "Start this connection automatically."
Click Next.

Click on Change connection settings |

Click on the Security tab; the settings from the previous screen will be repeated.
Make sure to uncheck the Cache user information box.
Click on the Settings button.

At the Protected EAP Properties window, be certain that the following is correct:
Validate server certificate checked; scroll through the alphabetical list and check off GTE CyberTrust Global Root and Secure Server Certificate Authority. Uncheck the box next to "Do not prompt user to authorize new servers or trusted certification authourities."
Select Authentication Method: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)
Enable Fast Reconnect checked

Click the Configure button.
Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password.
Click OK to all open windows. |

A popup information box will appear. Click on it to complete your profile.
Enter your username and password, but leave the domain blank. |

Another popup will appear. Click OK to accept the certificate. |  |
| Connecting may take a few moments. Additionally, profile information may be requested repeatedly if signal strength is weak. You may need to reboot for all settings to take. |
