WiFi@ LSUHSC
LSUHSC WiFi uses “Enterprise Security”, a wireless authentication method. Depending on what type of PDA you have, there are different ways to set this up.

DISCLAIMER: Your PDA MUST be equipped with wireless. Most newer PDAs have it. If you do not have wireless, you need to get a WiFi card for your PDA to set this up. If you’re unsure what you have, search Google for your PDA model & read the specifications. If you have Bluetooth you can leech internet access from your Bluetooth–equipped phone or laptop.
Blackberry
Check the LSUHSC Intranet for Blackberry support infomation:

Contact your computer support for more information.
iPhone
iPhones are currently unable to connect to LSUHSC wireless. However, you can use the iPhone's built-in wireless to access resources from our library homepage. To access LSUHSC databases you will need to log in with your library barcode and PIN as if you are off-campus.
PALM
If you have a PALM personal digital assistant, you need to download a small program to your PDA. It costs $5.99 & you can purchase it here: http://software.palm.com/us/html/display_palm_product.jsp?id=prod1730855
Once you’ve downloaded this, choose the following settings:
SECURITY: Enterprise
MODE: WEP (Dynamic)
ENCRYPTION: WEP
PROFILE: PEAP Default
Then hit EDIT PROFILE SETTINGS & add your LSUHSC username & password
POCKET PC/Windows Mobile
You shouldn’t need to purchase additional software. Refer to your user manual for directions or try browsing the Windows Mobile site: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/pocketpc/connections.mspx
TREOS, SMARTPHONES, ETC
Check which OS (Palm or Windows Mobile) is running on your phone. for Palm OS, you may need additional software to access the LSUHSC network. For Pocket PC, you may not. The library welcomes questions or experience with this technology.
