Orientation and Onboarding

LSU Health Sciences Center - New Orleans New Employee Orientation and Onboarding tools are designed to provide new hires with the pertinent information they need to begin working at the Health Sciences Center.

The New Employee Orientation provides detailed information about our organizational structure, policies and procedures, benefits options available to eligible new employees, human resources, payroll, health and safety, ethics and compliance, and our campus assistance program. The objective of the session is to familiarize new employees with LSUHSC-NO's mission, vision, and values and to provide an opportunity to meet other new colleagues. There are also plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

2023 EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION CALENDAR

Virtual New Employee Orientation

Due to COVID-19, Talent Development currently hosts the New Employee Orientation virtually via Zoom. The orientation is offered twice a month from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 1:00 p.m. Once your hire forms have been processed by Talent Acquisition, Talent Development will send you an email with the link to the zoom meeting for the orientation you are scheduled to attend. Please carefully review the email and its contents prior to the orientation. If you have any questions concerning your benefits, the orientation will serve as a prime opportunity to ask!

If you have any questions concerning the New Employee Orientation, please email TalentDevelopment@lsuhsc.edu for more support.

New Employee Onboarding

Starting a new position can leave employees feeling both excited and anxious. The new employee onboarding tools found on the left-side menu are designed to assist employees with the transition into their new roles.  Although new employee orientation lasts the whole day, onboarding is a process that takes several months. These tools will assist most Health Sciences Center employees with what they need to get started and stay on an upward projection toward success in their new role.
