LSUHSC-NO Emergency Alert SystemText Messaging/Email TutorialsIndexSignupVisit Create Account PageFrom the Text and Email Alerts page, login by clicking "Sign Up".
Authentication (Login Prompt)To register for Text messaging and/or email alerts you must have an LSUHSC user ID. If you are on campus and are using Internet Explorer with our proxy server you will automatically be logged in to the system upon clicking either 'Create Account', 'Sign Up', or 'Login'. Users off campus or using non-IE browsers will first receive a prompt to login. This system is made available to facilities owned and operated by the LSUHSC-NO Academic Campus which includes each academic school, administration services, LHN and the LSUHSC Foundation. Facilities leased by the LSUHSC-NO Academic Campus such as HCSD or MCLNO are not included.
Enter InformationOnce on the Account Creation page, enter your mobile phone number, select the proper carrier, and agree to the terms of service by checking the box. Make sure the phone that will receive the message is turned on and receiving a signal. Then click 'Create Account'.
Wait while the account is created. Validate your Mobile PhoneAfter account creation you will be sent to a page at e2Campus.net to validate successful text messaging configurations. Additionally, a text message will be sent to your phone with a validation code. The message will appear to come from 79516 but this is not the validation code. The message must be opened to retrieve the validation code. Please enter that validation code on the page and press 'Validate'.
When you receive your validation code, open the message and it will appear as follows: FR:e2Campus #### is your validation code.
Thank you for registering to Additional Mobile Phone Numbers and Email AddressesYou can now add six email addresses or an additional phone number under the services tab or Logout with the 'Logout' link. You may log back in from the Text and Email Alerts page.
Add PhoneBefore adding a mobile phone, be sure that the phone is within service area and turned on. When the services tab is enabled, under SMS (Text Messaging), add your mobile phone number. Then select a carrier and click the 'Add SMS' button. You will only be able to add one additional mobile phone.
You will then be required to verify the number as was done in the 'Validate Your Mobile Phone' section. Add Email AddressYou may also add up to two emails. Enter an email address under the 'Add an Email' and click 'Add'. You must then check that email address for new messages and follow the instructions for validating. You will not receive the emergency messages if you do not validate. Please note that it is not necessary to
sign up with your LSUHSC email address, since you will already
receive mass email notifications through your LSUHSC account.
Feel free to sign up with as many as two other email addresses
as you wish.
LogoutWhen you are finished, click the 'Logout' link at the top right portion of the page.

Wait while the account is created. Close Validation WindowWhen the validation window opens for the non-existent phone number, close the window. Log Back InLogin from the Text and Email Alerts page. Select the 'Services' tab.
Delete Phone NumberUnder 'SMS (Text Messaging)', click the 'Delete' link to remove the non-existent phone number.
You will then receive a popup window asking for confirmation. Click 'OK'. Add Email AddressAfter verifying that you want to delete the phone, you are brought back to the services page where you can enter an email. You are allowed to enter up to six email addresses. Enter an email address under the 'Add an Email' and click 'Add'. You must then check that email address for new messages and follow the instructions for validating. Instructions state to reply to the email. (validate@email.omnilert.net must be allowed to send to you.) After a few minutes, you will receive a message indicating you have been validated. You will not receive the emergency messages if you do not validate. Please note that it is not necessary to
sign up with your LSUHSC email address, since you will already
receive mass email notifications through your LSUHSC account.
Feel free to sign up with as many as two other email addresses

Change Phone/Carrier and InactivateYou can change your phone and/or carrier at any time and you can also inactivate your phone number. You may want to inactivate the number temporarily when you go on vacation or permanently if you no longer use the number. After inactivation, you can later reactivate the number. Login from the Text and Email Alerts page. Select the 'Services' tab.
Under 'SMS (Text Messaging)', click the 'Make Inactive' link corresponding to the mobile phone you would like to inactivate.
Change Mobile Phone and/or Carrier:

Opting Out of ServiceTo opt-out you must login and change services to inactive for each phone number and email address you’ve added. This preserves your account and personal information but will immediately halt receipt of alert notices. If you would like to opt-out of this service, please follow the instructions below. Login from the Text and Email Alerts page. Select the 'Services' tab.
Under 'SMS (Text Messaging)', click the 'Make Inactive' link corresponding to the mobile phone you would like to inactivate:
You will need to update the status for each phone listed. Under 'Email', click the 'Make Inactive' link corresponding to the email you would like to inactivate:
Repeat this step for each email you would like to inactivate. When you are finished, click the 'Logout' link at the top right portion of the page.

ValidationAfter signing up for the LSUHSC Text Alerting System, you must validate each phone and/or email account. Follow the simple steps below to complete validation. Note: you will need access to your text messaging device to complete validation. Please make sure the device is turned on, has a valid text messaging plan and is in an area of good coverage. Step 1: Login at https://www.lsuhsc.edu/alerts/e2Campus/. Step 2: Select the 'Services' tab.
Mobile Phone ValidationValidatingStep 3: Open the text message on your mobile device to retrieve the 4-digit validation code (Do NOT use the 5-digit number which may appear as the subject) Step 4: Enter the 4-digit validation code in the text box and click 'Validate.' If you haven't received your validation code, click the link 'Resend Validation SMS' to send an SMS message to your device.
Step 5: Enter the 4-digit validation code into the web browser as shown below and then click Validate. The status should now show 'Active'. Step 6: You must enter validation codes for each mobile device with a status of ‘Unvalidated’. Show me troubleshooting steps... SMS Text Messaging: Check with your carrier to see if they support or you subscribe to SMS services. You may test with this link here: http://www.e2campus.com/test_your_phone.htm Carrier: Be sure the carrier that you have chosen is the correct carrier for your mobile phone. Power: Be sure your phone is charged and turned on. Signal: Be sure you are in an area where you are receiving a signal for SMS. Check your phone's documentation or check with your carrier. Change mind: If you change your mind, be sure to delete the Mobile Phone Number that you signed up with.
Email Validation(Show me how to validate my email) Troubleshooting Email ValidationIf you are not receiving the validation email, be sure to add validate@email.omnilert.net to your address. Some email accounts are setup with 'whitelists' where only addresses added to your address book can send to you. If you have changed your mind and no longer want to receive messages to the Email Address that you signed up, please delete the Email Address. This will remove you from our list of unvalidated users. ValidatingYou should receive the validation email. All that is required is for you to reply. If you did not receive the message, follow the instructions above and click the link "Resend Validation Email'.
LogoutWhen you are finished, click the 'Logout' link at the top right portion of the page.
