Demolition work has
dominated the initial phase of the permanent repair
and mitigation work at the Allied Health/Nursing
Building and the Resource Center. Old ceiling tiles,
ceiling grid, sheetrock, studs, ductwork, wiring,
bathroom fixtures, etc. are being removed from the
1st Floors of both buildings. Crews have begun
running conduit between the new location for the
switch gear and riser B at then Resource Center. The
contractor is expected to begin staging equipment
and clearing the construction site at the Residence
Hall early next week.
Renovations to MDL #4 in
the Medical Education Building are substantially
complete. The contractor installed doors
and the door hardware in Room

The marker boards were hung
in the main MDL room and data
ports have been terminated
throughout. They
removed construction debris and cleaned up the main
MDL room and crews buffed and
waxed the floor. The new lab
stools were delivered. A punch list
is being developed for the contractor. MDL #4 should
be available for use in the near future.
The majority of the work
on the roof replacement contract for the Resource
Center is complete. The contractor primed and
painted all doors and door frames
and touched up the metal parapet wall cap.
The lightning protection system installation is
finished. The
remaining body of work includes installing the
supports for an elevated platform which will hold
the emergency generator being elevated to the roof
under the permanent repair and mitigation contract.
The roofer will also drill the holes through the
roof and install the conduit for the generator’s
fuel line and electrical wiring. We anticipate that
there will also be some punch list items for the
contractor to address.
The project to replace the
air handling units in the MEB is in the final phase.
