Work continues on the
permanent repairs and mitigation at the Allied
Health/Nursing Building. Workers removed metal wall studs and floor
tiles from Rooms 214 and 221 and constructed a
temporary wall in the 2nd Floor entryway.Floor tiles were removed from a portion of
the 2nd Floor corridor and 25 feet of the red panels
were removed from the elevated walkway at the
entrance to the building. Door frames were installed in the Tiger Room,
at the stairwells along Bolivar St., and in the 1st
Floor bathrooms. The contractor completed rewiring the
electrical panels in the 1st Floor electrical room.
Ten feet of heating
hot water supply lines were removed on the 2nd Floor
and crews removed the old heat exchanger. New hot water heating pipes are being welded. The pneumatic panel is being relocated to the
new mechanical room on the 2nd Floor and copper
lines were run for the pneumatic panel. The existing concrete pad for the pumps on
the 2nd Floor was removed and the contractor
roughed-in for the pumps in the 2nd Floor mechanical
room. The digital sign and granite panels were
removed from the 1st Floor elevator lobby. The elevator pit parts were removed from the
2nd elevator pit and workers pulled wire for the
lighting and elevator ATS. Duct work was removed from the 2nd Floor. The contractor installed the CMU in the Tiger
Room.
The contractor set
the new switch gear on the 2nd Floor of the Resource
Center.
One of the five cabinets for the new switchgear was
put in place and the bus duct in the switchgear room
is being torqued. Crews started running new chilled water lines
to the raised AHUs on the 1st Floor. Two temperature sensors and one flow meter
for the chill water lines were relocated in the 2nd
Floor pump room. The contractor relocated fire alarm devices
for the 2nd Floor mechanical room and removed
insulation from the existing chilled water lines in
the 2nd Floor pump room. The contractor has begun cleaning
the ductwork and air handling units on the 1st Floor. The
waterproofing was applied to the new CMU walls for
Elevators 1 & 2. The contractor removed paint on the 1st
Floor of Stairwell #2 (Bookstore side). The granite thresholds for Elevators 1 and 2
were installed.
The contractor
continues the plumbing and electrical rough-in for
the 2nd level of the new mechanical/electrical
structure at the Residence Hall. The domestic
cold water lines have been roughed in from the
ground floor to the 2nd level of the new structure
and the storm drain pipe for the roof was installed. A crane was delivered to the site and the
installation of the precast concrete panels that
will form the walls of the new elevated
mechanical/electrical structure is underway. 23 of the 40 panels have been installed.
The A/V contractor
installed the podium in the large conference room on
the 8th Floor of the Lions/LSU Clinic Building. The chair rails have been installed in the
conference rooms and the fire alarm system devices
have been installed in the renovated spaces. The contractor pulled access control wires
within the wooden door frame and installed access
control wiring in the large conference room.
The new patient
parking lot at the Dental School is nearing
completion. The contractor erected the uni-strut rack and
poured the concrete foundation for the new
electrical service equipment. The new light poles have been delivered and
erected on the site. The conductor wires for the parking lot
lighting were installed. The new electrical service equipment was
mounted and Entergy connected power to the new
electrical panel. The contractor energized the panel
and successfully tested the parking lot lighting. Concrete forms for the curbs and sidewalks
were removed and crews repaired
damaged asphalt throughout the parking lot. The planters and islands were backfilled and
construction materials and debris were removed from
the site.
Here are highlights of work
that has been accomplished during the past two
weeks.

installed in
the renovated spaces.
- The contractor pulled access control wires within
