The contractor relocated a Siemens panel from the existing mechanical room to the new mechanical room behind Auditorium 3 being constructed on the 2nd Floor of the Allied Health/Nursing Building.  Copper piping for the AHU was installed in the 2nd Floor mechanical room. Crews provided temporary power for the heating hot water lines and insulated the heating hot water supply line. They capped the by-pass line for the heating hot water lines, filled the heating hot water lines, found one leak and repaired the leak.  The contractor re-filled the heating hot water lines and the insulating contractor continues to insulate the heating hot water lines.

Workers finished applying the 2nd and 3rd coats of stucco above the office doorframes and around the columns on the 1st Floor of the Allied Health/Nursing Bldg. They applied the 3rd coat of stucco for the stairwells along S. Roman Street and installed metal lathe around the center columns in the Tiger Room.  The contractor installed ductwork and VAVs for the 1st Floor, near the Men’s restroom. They framed the fur down on the 1st Floor that parallels Bolivar Street. The structural steel for the AHUs on the 1st Floor was bolted down.

The doors to the mechanical room on the 2nd Floor were removed and crews demolished offices along Bolivar Street from the walkway to the Women’s restroom.  They removed the 2nd Floor Women’s restroom wall and demolished the 2nd Floor corridor wall paralleling Gravier Street.  The remaining floor tile was removed from the 2nd Floor and workers continue removing ceiling and floor tiles on the 2nd Floor.

The contractor installed studs for the 2nd floor auditorium along the MEB side of the building, the Gravier St. side of the building and walkway side of the building.  Ductwork is being installed in (the new) Auditorium 3. Crews hung sheet rock along the MEB side of the Auditorium 3, set electrical receptacles and installed studs for the mechanical room behind the auditorium.

At the Student Residence Hall, the contractor finished connecting the electrical conduit to the top of the new switchgear and pulled wires for the switchgear on the 2nd Floor.  Workers terminated electrical wires for the transformers on the roof and for the ATS and the switch gear on the 2nd Floor of the elevated structure.  They continue pulling electrical wires for the campus standby power system.  Workers laid CMU block for the fire pump room and the switchgear room walls and one door frame was installed between the generator room and the switchgear room.  The CMU walls in the switch gear room, the fire pump room and the domestic water pump room on the 2nd Floor were primed.   The construction site on the ground floor was cleaned in preparation for the completion of the asphalt paving. Asphalt primer was applied in the trenches near the A and C towers and underneath the new addition building on the ground floor and the asphalt was laid.

The contractor making the permanent repairs and mitigation at the Resource Center repaired 4 of the 5 broken post tension cables in the ATS room and switchgear room on the 2nd Floor.  Workers installed the sump pump piping and pit parts for the freight elevator.  Fire caulking was installed around the sump pump piping in the freight elevator pit and the elevator contractor tested the operation of the freight elevator.  The wall penetrations for the diesel fuel line were cut in Room 139 and pipe hangers were installed for the diesel fuel line in Rooms 136, 138, 139 and 155.  Workers installed the diesel fuel line in Rooms 136, 138, and 155.  They Welded the fuel line in Rooms 138, 139 and 155 and near the Men’s locker room on the 1st Floor.  The floor penetrations for cabling were made in the 2nd Floor network closet.  Approximately two-thirds of the ceiling was removed from the 2nd Floor network closet and the contractor opened the wall of the penthouse for the generator platform supports.

Work is getting underway on the permanent repairs and mitigation at the Clinical Education Building.  The contractor removed brick pavers near the existing generator in preparation for excavation and workers trenched a path for the emergency electrical feeds near the basement wall to the existing emergency generator.  Two 4-inch holes were drilled in the basement wall and electrical conduits were installed underground through the basement wall for the emergency electrical feeders.

Facility Services installed electrical conduit for the covered walkway lighting from the canopy closest to the Clinical Education Building to the District Energy Garage canopy. The contractor finished installing the  reinforcing steel at the canopy closest to the CEB in preparation for pouring concrete. They poured concrete at the canopy located closest to the CEB, the canopy closest to the District Energy Garage and along the length of the main walkway.  Crews excavated trenches for grade beams adjacent to the canopy at the Clinical Education Building.  The concrete forms have been removed from the entire length of the walkway.

The project to replace the air handling units at the Dental School has also begun.  The contractor set the first of two temporary AHUs and ran electrical wires to the unit. They removed three windows to allow for the temporary ductwork and Facility Services installed plywood to cover the openings.
