The contractor working at the Allied Health/Nursing
Building provided temporary power for the security
cameras at the loading dock. The 2nd walkway
sliding glass door was installed and crews finished
coring the 24 floor penetrations required for the
2nd Floor auditorium seating. Can light
fixtures were installed in the new fur down in the
walkway and sheetrock was installed in the 2nd Floor
entryway. The new door frame for the entryway
into the new switchgear room on the 2nd Floor was
installed. The installation of the new medical
gas manifold system on the 2nd Floor is progressing. The contractor started installing sheetrock
in the 2nd Floor pump room and they painted the
sprinkler pipes in the fire pump room.
Work on the permanent repairs and mitigation
at the Student Residence Hall is nearing completion. The contractor finished installing the CMU
block wall in the interior of the generator room on
the 2nd level of the new building. The new fire pump was connected and
disconnect boxes for the exhaust fan in the domestic
water pump and fire pump rooms were installed. Fire caulking was installed in all three
rooms on the 2nd level of the new elevated
mechanical/electrical/plumbing structure. The contractor primed the sprinkler pipes on
the 2nd level of the new building and the new fire
pump room was painted. The lightning protection was installed on the
roof of the new elevated structure. Interior dampers for the louvers on the 2nd
Floor of the new elevated structure were installed
and the motor starters for the exhaust fans were
installed. Crews removed abandoned electrical conduits
on the 1st Floor of the Residence Hall and a wall
partition in the old fire pump room on the 1st
Floor.
Workers continue demolishing the old switch gear and
electrical panels above the transformer vault.
The Resource Center
contractor finished painting and installed door
hardware on the 1st Floor exterior doors. Crews installed the shaft wall in the fire
pump room. The doorframe and ceiling for the fire pump
room were installed. The final broken post tension cable in the
2nd Floor electrical room was repaired. Workers continued to install the piping for
the heating hot water pump manifold and to pipe in
the fan coil unit in the pump room. The contractor insulated the heating hot
water piping and began constructing the walls for
the housekeeping closet in the fire pump room. Power for the new fire pump is being
installed.
Workers backfilled
the sewer line near the loading dock at the Clinical
Education Building and backfilled around the
transformer vault. The contractor relocated drainage pipes in
the basement. Crews roughed in new electrical panels in
Room 136 and began installing electrical wires on
the 3rd Floor. The pile driving rig was erected and 24 of
110 wooden piles were driven in the Lakeside lot.
The piles will support the foundation of the new
elevated mechanical/electrical/plumbing structure
that will house the building equipment located in
the basement. The contractor continued welding and
installing 8-inch chilled water lines, removing
abandoned electrical conduits and erecting forms for
the elevator shaft walls in the basement.
The project to upgrade the CSRB exhaust system
continues. The contractor installed the new ceiling
supports and the wire mesh for the plaster ceiling
in the 1st Floor corridor. They applied four (4) coats of plaster on the
ceiling, primed the plaster and began applying
finish paint. Exit signs, fire sprinkler heads and light
fixtures were installed in the 1st Floor corridor. Acid waste piping was roughed in on the 2nd
Floor and the new duct riser for exhaust system #3
was pressure tested.
Work on the project
to replace air handling units in the Dental Clinic
and Administration Buildings is progressing. In the Clinic Building, the contractor
installed 9 fixtures on the 8th Floor and ceiling
grid in Room 8341. They also installed light
fixtures on the 3rd Floor of the Clinic Building in
Room 3347. The A-side riser was pressure
tested.
The contractor finished installing spiral ductwork
for units 8A and 8D on the 8th Floor; making the
final ductwork connections and sealing the
connections. They tested all the spiral ductwork in the
penthouse and 8th Floor of the Clinic Building.
The ductwork passed and is now ready for insulation. All 13 VAVs have been installed. Crews started running heating hot water lines
to the VAVs located near Room 8405.
The two remaining (old) AHUs in the penthouse of the
Clinic Building were demolished. The
asbestos contractor removed ductwork at the unit in
the Clinic penthouse. The fresh air ductwork
serving units 8A and 8D was demolished. The
concrete pads for the last two new AHUs in the
Clinic Building penthouse were put in place and AHUs
8A and 8D were set in place. The contractor installed supply ductwork for
units 8A and 8D and the main branch lines for the
8th Floor reheat lines for unit 8D were run. Crews continued running heating hot water
lines for the 8th Floor reheat lines for units 8A
and 8D.
They completed 3 of 4 tie-ins for unit 8A and
started running the main chill water lines for 8A.
In the Administration Building, the contractor ran
the chilled and heating hot water lines for AHUs L2A
and L3A; 5 of the 12 VAVs have been tied in. Workers installed the spiral ductwork for L2A
and all 14 VAVs for unit L2A have been installed.
Crews continue running supply duct for AHU L3A. The spiral duct was run in the hallway
between the stairwell and the 3rd Floor restrooms,
and in the Bookstore. The contractor installed
condensate drains for units L2A and L3A and
installed fresh and return air ductwork in the 2nd
Floor mechanical room.
The building exterior
waterproofing contractor continued removing existing
caulk, cleaning and preparing the joint surfaces,
and installing new backer rod and caulk on the
north, south and east sides of the Dental School
Clinic Building and on the south side of the
Administration Building. They applied sealant on the south side of the
Clinic Building.
The electrical
contractor finished installing contactors in the
electrical panel at the Moss St. Entrance that serve
the new parking lot lights installed in the Dental
campus parking lots. They cleaned and graded along the fence line. The project is complete.
The contractor
responsible for constructing the covered walkway
between the CEB and the District Energy Garage
finished installing the roof decking on canopy A at
the end of the covered walkway closest to the
District Energy Garage. They are now installing the roof decking on
canopy B at the end of the covered walkway closest
to the Clinical Education Building.

- Workers continued erecting forms for the elevator

- The contractor drove 24 of 110 wooden piles in the
Lakeside lot. The piles will support the foundation

CSRB EXHAUST UPGRADE:
- The contractor installed the new ceiling supports
and the wire mesh for the plaster ceiling in the 1st
Floor corridor.
- The contractor applied four (4) coats of plaster on
the 1st Floor ceiling.
- They primed the new plaster and have begun applying
the finish paint.
- Exit signs, fire sprinkler heads and light fixtures
were installed in the 1st Floor corridor.
- Acid waste piping was roughed in on the 2nd Floor.
- The new duct riser for exhaust system #3 was
pressure tested.
DENTAL SCHOOL AHU REPLACEMENT:
- Clinic Building:
- The contractor installed 9 fixtures on the 8th Floor
and installed ceiling grid in Room 8341.
- The contractor installed light fixtures on the 3rd
Floor of the Clinic Building in Room 3347.
- The A-side riser was pressure tested.
- The contractor completed installing spiral ductwork
for units 8A and 8D on the 8th Floor.
- They made the final ductwork connections and sealed
the connections on the 8th Floor of the Clinic
Building.
- All 13 VAVs have been installed.
- Crews started running heating hot water lines to the
VAVs located near Room 8405.

8A and 8D.
- The main branch lines for the 8th Floor reheat lines
for unit 8D were run.
- Crews continued running heating hot water lines for
the 8th Floor reheat lines for units 8A and 8D. They completed 3 of 4 tie-ins for unit 8A and
continued to run the main branch lines for unit 8D.
- The contractor started running the main chill water
lines for 8A.
- The contractor tested all spiral ductwork in the
penthouse and 8th Floor of the Clinic Building.
The duct work passed and is now ready for
insulation.
- Administration Building:
- The contractor ran the chilled and heating hot water
lines for AHUs L2A and L3A in the Administration
Building.
- The contractor has tied in 5 of 12 VAVs
- The contractor installed the spiral ductwork for
L2A.
- All 14 VAVs for unit L2A have been installed.
- Crews continue running supply duct for AHU L3A.
- The spiral duct was run in the hallway between the
stairwell and the 3rd Floor restrooms.
- Spiral duct was run in the Bookstore.
- The contractor installed condensate drains for units
L2A and L3A.
- Workers installed fresh and return air ductwork in
the 2nd Floor mechanical room.
DENTAL SCHOOL BLDG EXTERIOR
WATERPROOFING:
- The contractor continued removing existing caulk,
cleaning and preparing the joint surfaces, and
installing new backer rod and caulk on the north and
south sides of the Clinic Building and on the south
side of the Administration Building.
- They applied sealant on the south side of the Clinic
Building.
DENTAL SCHOOL PARKING LOT LIGHTING:
- The contractor finished installing contactors in the
electrical panel at the Moss St. entrance.
- They cleaned and graded along the fence line.
- The project is complete.
CEB COVERED WALKWAY:
- The contractor completed installing the roof decking
on canopy A at the end of the covered walkway
closest to the District Energy Garage.
- The contractor began installing the roof decking on
canopy B at the end of the covered walkway closest
to the Clinical Education Building.
