Work on the permanent repairs and mitigation at the
Allied Health/Nursing Building continues.
The contractor is framing the monumental
stairwell enclosure.
Additional sheetrock was hung near the rear
wall of the auditorium and crews started installing
the second layer of gypsum board in the mechanical
room behind the auditorium.
The contractor is framing the ceiling in the
2nd Floor auditorium and in the corridor behind the
auditorium.
Workers are installing ceiling grid in the
hallway on the MEB side of the auditorium and
sprinkler heads in the auditorium and the hallway on
the MEB side of the auditorium.
The fire pump was set on the 2nd Floor.
The contractor working at the Clinical Education
Building continued installing conduit on the 2nd
Floor and began installing conduit on the 1st Floor.
The freight elevator shaft wall in the
basement was poured and crews installed a 6 inch
domestic waterline in the basement.
Workers began installing the high pressure
steam line in the basement.
Metal stud bracing is being installed along
the corridor wall on the 2nd Floor.
All 12 pile caps have been formed, rebar has
been installed in 12 of 12 pile caps and concrete
has been poured for 9 of the 12 pile caps.
Workers started removing the concrete forms
and back-filling the pile caps that have been
completed.
The CSRB exhaust
upgrade contractor made final preparations for the
exhaust fan lift and lifted the fans to the roof.
Installation of the exhaust fans is underway.
The utility pitch pockets for exhaust fan
sets 1 -4 were installed and the plenum support for
exhaust fan system 10 was set in place.
The project to replace the air handing units in the
Dental School Clinic and Administration Buildings is
progressing.
The contractor continued installing heating
hot water lines for units 6A and 3A and made the
final connections for unit 3B in the Clinic
Building. They continued insulating chilled
and heating hot water lines for unit 3A and the
existing outside air duct for unit 3A was
demolished. The controls contractor installed
control wire for units 3A and 3B. Workers
finished installing the ductwork for unit 6A and the
new ductwork for units 6A and 3A was successfully
pressure tested.
The contractor continued installing fresh air and
supply air duct for unit 3B in the Clinic Building.
Supply duct and heating hot water lines on the 6th
and 3rd Floors of the Clinic Building were insulated
and supply air duct is being installed in the 6th
Floor mechanical room. Workers framed the hard
ceiling in the Men’s restroom on the 3rd Floor and
continued installing drop in ceiling on the 3rd
Floor. Sheetrock for the Men’s restroom
ceilings on the 6th Floor was hung. The
contractor also installed a smoke damper between the
2nd and 3rd Floors of the Administration Building.
Work on waterproofing
the exteriors of the three main buildings on the
Dental Campus is nearing completion.
The contractor removed existing caulk and
backer rod, prepared the surfaces of the building
panels and installed new caulk and backer rod on the
north, south, east and west sides of the Power
Plant.
Here are highlights of work that has been
accomplished during the past two weeks.
ALLIED HEALTH/NURSING BLDG PERMANENT REPAIRS &
MITIGATION:

CEB PERMANENT REPAIRS & MITIGATION:
- The contractor continued installing conduit on the
2nd Floor and began installing conduit on the 1st
Floor.
- The freight elevator shaft wall in the basement was
poured.
- Crews installed a 6 inch domestic waterline in the
basement.
- The contractor began installing the high pressure
steam line in the basement.

corridor wall on the 2nd Floor.

DENTAL SCHOOL BLDG EXTERIOR
WATERPROOFING:
- The contractor removed existing caulk and backer rod,
prepared the surfaces of the building panels and
installed new caulk and backer rod on the north,
south, east and west sides of the Power Plant.
