Work on the permanent repairs and hazard mitigation
at the Clinical Education Building continues. The contractor continued installing new
conduit on the 1st and 2nd Floors and workers are
installing bracing along the corridor wall on the
1st Floor. They continued installing the new high
pressure steam line in the basement. Concrete forms for the grade beams in the
Lakeside Lot were constructed and the rebar was
installed in the forms. Concrete was
poured in the forms and allowed to set. Crews removed the concrete forms and back
filled around the grade beams.
The CSRB exhaust upgrade contractor installed
electrical conduit on the 7th Floor to provide power
to the rooftop exhaust system #1, #2 and #3. The fan and VFD supports for exhaust system
#9 were installed on the roof. Workers installed the air plenum, plenum
base, fan supports, and VFD supports for exhaust
system #10 on the roof and roof flashing was
installed around exhaust systems #9 and #10. The contractor installed the exhaust fan
platforms for exhaust systems #9 and #10 and the
fans for both systems were placed on the fan
supports. Crews are installing the round exhaust
ductwork for Phase 2A of the upgrade project. The ceiling tile is being removed from Room
342.
The contract to replace the air handling units in
the Dental Clinic and Administration Buildings is
progressing. The contractor continued insulating supply
duct and heating hot water lines on the 3rd and 6th
Floors of the Clinic Building. The heating hot
water lines for unit 6A were installed and the lines
are being insulated. Crews taped and floated
the sheetrock ceiling in the Men’s restrooms on the
3rd and 6th Floors. Supply air duct was installed in the 6th
Floor mechanical room. Workers are installing both control panels
and thermostats on the 3rd Floor of the Clinic
Building and the breakers for both units on the 3rd
Floor were installed. The contractor started
units 3A and 3B and both units are running manually.
The 7th Floor lab exhaust ductwork in 7401B of the
Clinic Building was replaced. Fire alarm wire is being run for units 3A, 3B
and 6A.
The new ceiling is being installed in the 3rd Floor
corridor of the Clinic Building. Workers are installing control panels and
thermostats on the 3rd Floor. The doorframe
and the CMU block surrounding the door frame that
lead to unit 3A were installed. The contractor
started the demolition of ceilings and lights in
preparation for replacing AHU 5A in the Clinic
Building. Crews insulated the supply duct for
unit L3A in the Administration Building and the duct
detectors for units L2A and L3A are being installed.
The building exterior waterproofing contractor
working at the Dental School campus finished
removing the old caulk and installing new caulk on
the north and west sides of the Power Plant.
The exterior panels on the north and west sides of
the Power Plant building were sealed and the project
is now substantially complete.
Here are highlights of work that has been
accomplished during the past two weeks.
CEB PERMANENT REPAIRS & MITIGATION:
- The contractor continued installing conduit on the
1st and 2nd Floors.
- Workers are installing bracing along the corridor
wall on the 1st Floor.
- They continued installing high pressure steam line
in the basement.
- Concrete forms for the grade beams in the Lakeside
Lot were constructed.
- Workers installed steel rebar in the concrete forms
for the grade beams and poured the concrete.
- Crews removed the concrete forms and back filled
around the grade beams in the Lakeside Lot.
CSRB EXHAUST UPGRADE:
- The contractor installed electrical conduit on the
7th Floor to provide power to the rooftop exhaust
system #1, #2 and #3.
- The fan and VFD supports for exhaust system #9 were
installed on the roof.
- The contractor installed the air plenum, plenum
base, fan supports, and VFD supports for exhaust
system #10 on the roof.
- Roof flashing was installed around exhaust systems
#9 and #10.
- The contractor installed the exhaust fan platforms
for exhaust systems #9 and #10.
- The fans for exhaust systems #9 and #10 were placed
on the fan supports.
- Crews are installing the round exhaust ductwork for
Phase 2A of the upgrade project.
- The ceiling tile is being removed from Room 342.
DENTAL SCHOOL AHU REPLACEMENT:
- The contractor continued insulating supply duct and
heating hot water lines on the 3rd and 6th Floors of
the Clinic Building.
- The heating hot water lines for unit 6A were
installed and the lines are being insulated.
- Crews taped and floated the sheetrock ceiling in the
Men’s restrooms on the 3rd and 6th Floors.
- Supply air duct was installed in the 6th Floor
mechanical room.
- Workers are installing both control panels and
thermostats on the 3rd Floor of the Clinic Building.
- The breakers for both units on the 3rd Floor were
installed.
- The contractor started units 3A and 3B in the Clinic
Building. Both units are running manually.
- The 7th Floor lab exhaust ductwork in 7401B was
replaced.
- Fire alarm wire is being run for units 3A, 3B and
6A.
- The new ceiling is being installed in the 3rd Floor
corridor of the Clinic Building.
- Workers are installing control panels and
thermostats on the 3rd Floor of the Clinic Building.
- The doorframe and the CMU block surrounding the door
frame that lead to unit 3A were installed.
- The contractor started the demolition of ceilings
and lights in preparation for replacing AHU 5A in
the Clinic Building.
- The contractor insulated the supply duct for unit
L3A in the Administration Building.
- The duct detectors for units L2A and L3A are being
installed.
DENTAL SCHOOL BLDG EXTERIOR
WATERPROOFING:
- The contractor finished removing the old caulk and
installing new caulk on the north and west sides of
the Power Plant.
- The exterior panels on the north and west sides of
the Power Plant building were sealed.
- The project is now substantially complete.
