The contract to upgrade the CSRB building exhaust system is progressing. The contractor installed the fiberglass exhaust cone on top of Exhaust Fan EF-4C and EF-2D. Crews installed electrical conduit on the 7th Floor to provide power to rooftop exhaust system #3 and continued installing electrical conduit on the 7th Floor for fan systems #9 and #10. They also installed electrical conduit on the 5th Floor in Room 563. Workers installed the round exhaust ductwork in the 2nd Floor mechanical room and exhaust risers #9 and #10 and continued installing the round exhaust ductwork for exhaust riser 10 from the 3rd Floor to the 7th Floor.

The contractor sealed the ductwork seams on the 2nd Floor and the ductwork for phase 2A passed the pressure test. The exterior perimeter rooms on the 2nd Floor were connected to the new exhaust ductwork in phase 2A and the ductwork was insulated. Cold water and vacuum piping on the 7th Floor was relocated and the workers removed the ductwork in the BSL3 lab. Crews began installing three (3) VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) on the roof for exhaust system #9. The ductwork for exhaust systems #9 and #10 is being installed in Room 729. The contractor began installing the ceiling support framing in the 2nd Floor corridors as phase 2A nears completion.

The abatement in the mechanical room for unit 5A was completed and crews removed the old AHU 5A from the Clinic Building. The contractor built forms and installed rebar for the concrete pad that will support the new AHU 5A and installed nine (9) VAV boxes on the 5th Floor for unit 5A. The drain pan for unit 5A was installed and workers are installing heating hot water lines for the VAV boxes and the ductwork. The contractor finished removing light fixtures and ceiling tiles in the Library and relocated the VFD for unit 3A in the Administration Building.

Here are highlights of work that has been accomplished during the past two weeks.

CEB PERMANENT REPAIRS & MITIGATION:

• The contractor continued installing conduit on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Floors.
• The steam supply line has been installed in the basement.
• Workers are erecting forms and installing steel rebar for additional grade beams in the Lakeside Lot.
• The contractor poured concrete for the grade beam nearest the basement areaway and removed the forms when the concrete had set up.
• Workers began waterproofing the elevator pits of elevators 7 and 8.
• The storm drain line for the new elevated mechanical/electrical structure is being installed.
• The pendant light fixtures were removed from the 1st Floor lobby.
• The controller for the front passenger elevators was installed.

CSRB EXHAUST UPGRADE:

• Crews continued installing the round exhaust ductwork for exhaust riser 10 from the 3rd Floor to the 7th Floor.

• The ductwork for phase 2A passed the pressure test.

• The contractor completed insulating the ductwork that was installed in phase 2A.
• Cold water and vacuum piping on the 7th Floor was relocated.
• The contractor removed the ductwork in the BSL3 lab.
• Crews began installing 3 VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) on the roof for exhaust system #9.
• Ductwork for exhaust systems #9 and #10 are being installed in Room 729.
• The contractor began installing the ceiling support framing in the 2nd Floor corridors as phase 2A nears completion.

DENTAL SCHOOL AHU REPLACEMENT:

• The contractor continued insulating the heating hot water line and supply ductwork for unit 6A in the Clinic Building.
• Fire alarm wire is being installed for units 3A, 3B, and 6A.
• Workers began removing pneumatics and electrical conduits from mechanical room 5A in the Clinic Building.
• The demolition of ceilings and lights for unit 5A is finished.
• The contractor painted the plaster ceiling for the bathroom on the 3rd Floor and installed ceiling grids in the 6th Floor bathroom.
• Light fixtures were installed in the restrooms on the 3rd and 6th Floors.
• The abatement in the mechanical room for unit 5A was completed.
• Crews removed the old AHU 5A in the Clinic Building.
• The contractor built forms and installed rebar for the concrete pad for unit 5A in the Clinic Building.
• Nine (9) VAV boxes were installed on the 5th Floor for unit 5A.
• The contractor installed the drain pan for unit 5A in the Clinic Building.
• They are installing heating hot water lines for the VAV boxes and the ductwork for unit 5A.
• The contractor finished removing light fixtures and ceiling tiles in the Library.
• Workers relocated the VFD for unit 3A in the Administration Building.
