  • Lions Eye Center: Work on the environmental remediation of the 7th, 5th and 4th floors of the Lion's Eye Center is to be completed today. The crews will begin working on the 2nd, 4th and 6th floors tomorrow. Completion is expected by Friday. Work will begin on the 8th and 9th floors over the weekend. Faculty and staff are requested to minimize their entry into this building during the remediation. This will help to keep the work on schedule and minimize the chances of having the work compromised, which would require rework and delay completion of the contract.
  • MEB: The environmental remediation of the MEB will start on Monday; beginning on the 7th floor. Plans are to complete one floor per day until all floors through 2nd floor are completed, with the exception of the Gross Anatomy lab and the morgue. These spaces will take additional time and effort to complete. Faculty and staff are requested to minimize their entry into this building during the remediation. This will help to keep the work on schedule and minimize the chances of having the work compromised, which would require rework and delay completion of the contract.
  • The architect presented two proposals for hazard mitigation that would address damaged animal care areas and selected mechanical & electrical components of the CSRB, Lion's Eye Center and the MEB. Present at that meeting were representatives from FEMA, the Office of Facility Planning & Control, the Office of Risk Management and the LSUHSC.
  • Repairs to the front four passenger elevators at the MEB resumed today.
  • The contractor responsible for the removal of flood damaged building materials completed the punch list for the Roman St. Parking garage.
