Friday, August 31, 2007 NOTICE:
In our efforts to continuously maintain and improve our facilities, we are
scheduling the painting of the Main Campus elevated walkway. From 6:00 PM until 6:00 AM each day for the
period of Tuesday, September 04, 2007 through Wednesday, October 03, 2007,
portions of the walkway will be partially blocked off by our contractor,
Zimmer-Eschette. It is our plan to
maintain at least half of all passageways clear at all times to ensure continuous
access. The areas affected will include
the sections leading to the Resource Center , South Roman
Parking Garage, Allied Health/School of Nursing, Lions/LSU Clinics, Clinical
Sciences, and Medical Education buildings.
The Walk to Wellness section will not be affected. Please be assured that we will make every
effort to minimize and to promptly resolve any inconveniences that may
arise. Dental School :
- Work on the mechanical room located in area 3 on the 1st floor of the Clinic Building continues.
- The installation of lights and the electrical build out continues.
- The installation and connection of the remaining equipment in the Central Sterilization unit continued today.
- The building steam was turned on today. This means that steam is available at the sterilizers in the Central Sterilization unit.
- The sprinkler heads located in the various network/telecom closets are being adjusted.
- The treatment of the domestic water in the Clinic and Administration buildings began this morning and will run throughout the weekend.

Duct Cleaning:
- All of the air handling units and the ducts on floors 2 through 7 have been cleaned. This project is now complete.

Morgue Upgrade:
- The original morgue cooler in the MEB had not been upgraded since the building was constructed. Significant changes and enhancements within the industry have come about since that time, so a new cooler and related storage has been purchased.
- The old cooler has been demolished to make way for the new cooler installation.
- The new concrete floor has been poured.
- The new insulated panels that will make up the walls and ceiling of the cooler are scheduled to be delivered next week,
- The current target date for completion of the work is in early October.
