NOTICE: The 2^nd Floor Lobby Renovation Project in the Medical Education Building is progressing to the point that the first flooring layer will be poured this weekend.  This work will take place from 7:00 AM on Saturday, August 16^th until 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 17^th.  We ask that no one access the 2^nd Floor during this time. The area around this elevator lobby will be inaccessible, and the 2^nd Floor passenger elevators #1, #2, #3, and #4 will not be stopping on the 2^nd Floor from 3:00 PM on Friday, August 15^th until 9:00 AM on Monday, August 18^th.  The #7 and #8 freight elevators in the rear of the building will be operating normally.

We are also asking that anyone accessing the Lecture Halls during the next few weeks please use the 1^st Floor entrances and rest rooms because of the work in the 2^nd Floor lobby.  Please treat the 2^nd Floor doors to the Lecture Halls as emergency exits only.

1542 Tulane Ave. :

• The mechanical and electrical contractors completed installing new fan coil units in the lounges.
• The insulation contractor continued wrapping the FCU piping.
• The contractor finished installing forms for the new sidewalk in front of the building. 
• They also installed rebar and wire mesh, preparing for the concrete to be poured next week. 
• The elevator contractor continues their work on Elevators #4 and #7.
• Zimmer crews continue patching walls and painting on the 5^th Floor.
• The contractor is framing up the new walls in the 6^th and 7^th Floor lounges.
• The interior demolition of the 3^rd and 4^th Floor annex spaces continues.
• LSUHSC Facility Services personnel continue installing locksets on the 5^th and 6^th Floors and working on maintenance items throughout the building. 
• LSUHSC plumbers are making preparations for cutting out plumbing on the 3^rd and 4^th Floors this weekend.

Dental School Roof Replacement:

• Needham Roofing continues to work on punch-list items, including caulking and weather-proofing.
• The contractor is installing umbrellas around the bases of the exhaust fan supports.

Dental Campus Lab Renovations:

• The contractor continues removing wall panels, ductwork and electrical wiring on the 8^th Floor and crews are removing cabinets and lab benches on the 6^th Floor in Rooms 6335 and 6333.

Dental Campus Auditorium A&B Renovations:

• The contractor is removing electrical and telecommunications wiring.
• The contractor started laying-out the new walls for the auditoriums.

Library Commons:

• LSUHSC Facility Services electricians continued installing conduit for new lighting in the Café Lounge area and for light switches.
• Auxiliary Enterprises continues pulling new wires for network access.

Lions/LSU Clinic Permanent Repairs and Mitigation:

• The contractor continued installing new duct work on the S. Prieur/Gravier St. side of the 6^th Floor in the mechanical room.
• The contractor is piping in the VAVs on east side of the 6^th Floor.
• Crews are removing the tile walls in all bathrooms on the 6^th Floor.
• The contractor continues insulating the heating hot water pipe from the main to the branch on the 6^th Floor.
• A CMU wall is being built by the elevator lobby on the Bolivar St. side.

MEB MDL #5:

• The crews continued installing HVAC grilles and return grilles, and relocating the sprinkler heads.

MEB 2^nd Floor Lobby Renovations:

• Preparations have been made to pour the first layer of the new flooring over the weekend.
• The contractor continues taping and floating sheetrock.

MEB 4^th Floor Ceiling Replacement:

• The ceiling grid in the student lounge area on the Roman St. side of the building is complete.
• The grid installation was started in the student lounge on the Bolivar St. side.
• Crews continued relocating sprinkler heads to accommodate the new ceiling grid in the rear and center corridors.
