Tuesday, September 9, 2008   1542 TULANE: General contractor continued demolition in the 3rd and 4th floor annex. Contractor completed formwork for the area way concrete lids. Facility Services continued installing new fan coil units on the 6th floor.  Work continued on renovations to the 8th floor restroom, 6th floor restrooms and various maintenance items throughout the building. Security contractor continued running wire and preparing for camera installation on the exterior doors. Elevator contractor continues work on elevator #4.   DENTAL CAMPUS 6th and 8th FLOOR RENOVATIONS: Contractors are laying-out new wall locations and laying-out coring locations for piping penetrations in room 8405.   DENTAL CAMPUS AUDITORIUMS A & B RENOVATIONS: Contractor continues to remove support beams for the accordion walls and has finished insulating ductwork and piping in Auditorium B.   LIBRARY COMMONS: Plumber continues to run pipes in 2nd floor ceiling. Contractor installed plywood for equipment in the media room.   LIONS BUILDING MITIGATION: Mechanical subcontractor is running lines for new Med Gas on 6th floor simulation rooms; running supply duct on the Gravier side of the 6th floor; insulating heating hot water lines on the Bolivar/CSRB side of 6th floor; insulating the supply duct following the installation on the Gravier side of the floor; running waste line from 5th floor to new 6th floor scrub sinks;  installing water closet carriers and demoing old pipe in bathrooms on the Bolivar side of the 6th floor; and piping in sump pumps in the elevator pits 3 and 4. Glass subcontractor is installing new metal trim pieces on the 1st floor Gravier side. Electrical subcontractor is tying in conduit for new transfer switches on the 2nd floor in new electrical room on the CSRB side; and moving electrical pipe and boxes out of the way of the new air conditioning system on the 6th floor. Iron subcontractor is setting anchors for new stairwell. Contractor is painting 6th floor CSRB and Gravier side and mudding on 7th floor.  MDL-5 LAB: Contractor completed installation of VCT tiles. Ceiling tiles installation completed in room 4106A, 4109, 4122A, and 4123A; contractor began work in main MDL room.   MEB 2nd FLOOR LOBBY: Contractor is painting lobby walls.   MEB 4th FLOOR CEILING REPLACEMENT: Contractor continues to install lights on the Gravier side of building and sprinklers on the Perdido St. Side.   RESIDENCE HALL LOBBY EXPANSION: Contractor continues installing angle liners at the rear and installing deck above. (85% of the structure frame completed).
