Wednesday, September 10, 2008   1542 TULANE AVE.: General contractor continued demolition in the 3rd and 4th floor annex. Contractor completed preparations for placing the area way concrete lids. New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board contractor repaired sidewalk in the area of the new irrigation meter. Elevator contractor continued work on elevator #4. Facility Services continued installing new fan coil units on the 6th floor.  Work continued on renovations to the 8th floor restroom and installation of restroom accessories throughout the building.  Work commenced roughing in plumbing in the 7th floor lounge for the new kitchenettes.   DENTAL CAMPUS 6th and 8th FLOOR RENOVATIONS: Contractor continues laying-out coring locations for piping penetrations and is preparing to core in room 8405.   DENTAL CAMPUS AUDITORIUMS A & B RENOVATIONS: Contractor continues to remove support beams for the accordion walls and is insulating ductwork and piping in Auditorium A. LANDSCAPING & EXTERIOR WORK: Landscaping contractor replanted storm damaged trees and reinstalled support cables.  Also, tightened and replaced support cables on other trees throughout the campus.   LIBRARY COMMONS: Plumbing contractor continues to install the plumbing piping. Contractor resumed metal wall framing at the frieze wall. LIONS BUILDING MITIGATION: Mechanical subcontractor is running lines for new Med Gas on the 6th floor simulation rooms; running supply duct on the Gravier side of the 6th floor; insulating heating hot water lines on the Bolivar/CSRB side of the 6th floor; raising existing waste lines below the new ceiling height on the 6th floor; piping in waste lines and vents for water closet carriers and urinals in the bathrooms on the Bolivar side of the 6th floor; and piping in AHU in mechanical room on the 1st floor on the Gravier/Bolivar side. Glass subcontractor is installing new metal trim pieces on the 1st floor CSRB side. Electrical subcontractor is pulling wire to new panel boxes in the new electrical room on the on the 2nd floor CSRB side. Iron subcontractor laid out the steel beams for the first 2 floors of the new stairwell.  Contractor is mudding walls on 2nd floor new switchgear room. Contractor is preparing floor in bathrooms on the 1st floor CSRB/Bolivar side. MDL-5 LAB RENOVATION: Contractor completed installation of ceiling tiles. Contractor began installing casework. MEB 4th FLOOR CEILING REPLACEMENT: Contractor continues installing ceiling tile on the Bolivar Street side of building. RESIDENCE HALL LOBBY EXPANSION: Contractor completed installation of steel structural supports.
