Wednesday, September 17, 2008   1542 TULANE AVE.: General contractor continued demolition in the 3rd floor annex. General contractor finished new concrete decks in the lounges on 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th floors and commenced wall construction. Elevator contractor continued work on elevator #4. Lighting contractor continued installing new light fixtures in the 1st floor Family Medicine offices. Painting contractor continued painting stairwell and hallway ceilings. Security contractor installed the new cameras at the parking garage entrance. Contractor completed new concrete lids for the area ways in the front and rear of the building. Facility Services continued installing new fan coil units and painting in rooms on the 6th floor. DENTAL CAMPUS ROOFING REPAIRS: Roofing Contractor is repairing roof decking on the elevator penthouse of the Administration Building - a 10ft x 10ft section of roof decking, insulation, mineral board, and roof cap sheets have been removed. The Contractor installed sheet metal and concrete to repair the deck and is re-installing the insulation, mineral board and cap sheets. DENTAL CAMPUS AUDITORIUMS A & B RENOVATIONS: General Contractor has begun to construct the framing for the ceiling in Auditorium A. DENTAL CAMPUS 6TH AND 8TH FLOOR RENOVATIONS: Mechanical Contractor is installing pipe hangers and preparing pipe fittings for installation of vacuum piping in room 8405. LANDSCAPING & EXTERIOR WORK: Commenced installation of landscaping irrigation piping at 1542 Tulane. LIONS BUILDING MITIGATION: Mechanical subcontractor is running lines for new Med Gas on the 6th floor simulation rooms; running supply duct on Bolivar/Gravier side of 6th floor; insulating heating hot water lines on Bolivar side of 6th floor; insulating supply duct on Bolivar side of 6th floor; removing storm drains in the way of the duct work on Gravier side of 6th floor; and piping in the AHU in mechanical room on 1st floor on the Gravier/Bolivar side of the building. Electrical subcontractor is installing outlets in new lab area on the 7th floor and running conduit to the new fire panel room on 2nd floor. Iron subcontractor was welding the new stair structure on the top of 1st floor/bottom of 2nd floor; hanging steel for the new partitions on the 6th floor Gravier side. Contractor is sealing penetrations on 7th floor; installing ceiling wire on 7th floor; and framing the bathroom on the 6th floor Bolivar / CSRB side. MDL-5 LAB RENOVATION: Contractor continues installing casework (unistrut frame) and LCD panels display, and is reinstalling air, gas and vacuum line for new casework. Contractor completed installing new partition panels, including new door and frame, in room 4123A. MEB 4th FLOOR CEILING REPLACEMENT: Contractor installed ceiling tiles and return grille on Roman St. side. RESIDENCE HALL LOBBY EXPANSION: Contractor delivered materials and began setting up installation of self-level concrete floor.
