NOTICE: A building-wide power outage at the Lions/LSU Clinics Building has been scheduled for Sunday, December 7th, 2008 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. During this outage there will only be emergency power to maintain emergency lights and service to some specific equipment in the building – these items are plugged into the red receptacles.  The regular receptacles, elevators, lights, air conditioning and heating, exhaust, and all pumps will be off in all sections of the building as the electrical power from Entergy is shut down to allow installation of power for the new equipment in the building. 

We highly recommend that no one stay in the building during the outage due to the lack of utilities and elevators.  However, should there be a need to be in the building, please do not attempt to use any water (hot or cold) at any faucet, toilet or urinal during this outage.  Also, to avoid problems upon the return of power, please do not open any medical air or vacuum valves during this outage.

Please note that only the equipment already plugged into the red receptacles should remain plugged into them.  Please do not plug additional equipment into the red receptacles as this will cause circuit overload and total equipment failure. 

NOTICE: Due to the on-going projects on the 4th, 5th and 8th floors of the Dental School Clinic Building, there will be a utility outage that will affect the domestic hot water, domestic cold water, de-ionized water, laboratory air and laboratory vacuum systems in the Clinic Building.  The outage will start at 5:00 PM on Friday, December 5th and services will be restored by midnight.  During the outage, there will be no water at any faucet, toilet or urinal and no de-ionized water, laboratory air, laboratory vacuum at any valve.  We ask that no one attempt to use any of these services during the outage as this can cause problems when the services are restored.  The Administration Building will not be affected by this outage.

1542 TULANE AVE. :

• The electrical contractor continued installing new light fixtures in the conference rooms on the 2nd and 3rd Floors.
• They removed old light fixtures from Conference Room 639.
• The elevator contractor continued removing the protective film from Elevator 3.  
• The flooring contractor installed VCT and carpet in the 5th Floor lounge and cove base in the 6th Floor lounge. 
• The furniture vendor set conference room and lounge furniture on the 6th Floor. 
• The general contractor continued drywall installation in Room 545. 
• The painting contractor continued painting the front stairwell on the Charity end of the hall.
• The network wiring contractor completed installing new drops on the 6th Floor and continued wiring on the 5th Floor. 
• Facility Services continued minor repairs on various floors.

DENTAL CAMPUS AUDITORIUMS A & B RENOVATIONS:

• The general contractor poured concrete for the Auditorium B stairs.
• The mechanical contractor installed the heating water supply lines for both AHUs.
• The electrical contractor installed wall sconces on the south and west walls of Auditorium B.

EXTERIOR/LANDSCAPING:

• Facility Services crews worked on landscape maintenance around the downtown campus.

LIONS/LSU CLINIC PERMANENT REPAIRS AND MITIGATION:

• The mechanical subcontractor installed thermostats on the south side of the 6th Floor.
• Crews continued to demolish ductwork and water pipes in the old 6th Floor lab space.
• The controls for the AHU on the east side of the 6th Floor were disconnected.
• The waste lines in the ceiling of the north side of the 5th Floor were capped.
• They demolished glass pipe on the 2nd Floor that is in the way of the new electrical work.
• The electrical subcontractor demolished old conduits in the 6th Floor lab space.
• They ran conduit to Panel 2AC and the switchgear on the 2nd Floor and grounded the new switchgear.
• The contractor installed doors on the northwest side of the 6th Floor.
• Crews continued demolition in the 6th Floor lab.
• Additional sheetrock was installed on the 2nd Floor.
• They installed metal lathe on the 1st Floor, north and west sides.

LIBRARY COMMONS:       

• The flooring contractor began installation of floor tile in the area of the coffee kiosk.

MEB 2ND FLOOR LOBBY RENOVATIONS:

• The sprinkler subcontractor installed sprinkler pipe on the east side of the lobby.

MEB MDL 6 RENOVATIONS:

• The contractor removed half of the old floor from the main MDL lab.

MEB 6109/6148 LAB RENOVATIONS:

• The contractor capped all plumbing and reconnected all plumbing for sinks in both rooms.
