NOTICE:  There will be a domestic hot and cold water shutdown at the Resource Center on Friday, January 30th, from 6:00 PM to midnight to perform some plumbing repairs and replacements in the building.  During this outage there will be no water available at any faucet, toilet or urinal.  Please do not attempt to use any faucet, toilet or urinal during the outage.

  • At the same time, the chilled water at the Resource Center will need to be shut down to replace valves.  This means there will be no air conditioning in the building with the exception of the 7th floor computer center. 

 

NOTICE: Please be advised that we have scheduled a utility outage on Saturday, January 31st, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Lions/LSU Clinics Building in order to move the electrical lines for the following services to the new switchgear. 

  • A domestic hot and cold water outage. There will be no hot or cold water available at any faucet, toilet, or urinal in the building during the outage. This outage is needed to move the electrical lines for the domestic water pumps to the new switchgear. Please do not open up any hot or cold water faucets or use any toilet or urinal during the outage.       
  • A heating hot water outage. There will be no heating in the building for the duration of the shutdown, and overcooling some spaces may occur. This outage is needed to move the electrical lines for the heating hot water to the new switchgear. 
  • An exhaust fan outage. This will affect all fume hoods throughout the building. This outage is needed to move the electrical lines for the exhaust fans to the new switchgear. Please do not use any fume hoods during the outage. 
  • A perchloric acid fume hood outage. This will affect all perchloric acid fume hoods. This outage is needed to move the electrical lines for the perchloric acid exhaust fans to the new switchgear. Please do not use any perchloric acid fume hoods during the outage.     

 

1542 TULANE AVE. :

  • The general contractor continued taping and floating the drywall in the 2nd Floor lounge and framing walls and fur downs in the 1st Floor lounge. 
  • The cleaning contractor continued cleaning restrooms, windows, hallways and floors on the 4th Floor. 
  • The mechanical contractor continued piping new fan coil units in rooms on the 2nd and 3rd Floors. 
  • The painting contractor commenced painting Room 109/109A and 32 exterior doors.
  • Facility Services continued painting offices and hallways on the 4th Floor, installing new door hardware on the 3rd Floor, and completing minor repairs on the 1st and 4th Floors.

 

DENTAL CAMPUS AUDITORIUMS A & B RENOVATIONS:

  • The insulation contractor insulated the supply and return lines for one of the Liebert units in the A/V room.
  • The contractor installed the door frame for the mechanical room.

 

DENTAL 6th & 8th FLOOR RENOVATIONS:

  • The general contractor installed the ceiling grid in Rooms 8405C, 8405E, and 8405I, and completed the grid in Room 8405A.      
  • The contractor applied the first coat of paint on the walls on the 6th Floor. 

 

EXTERIOR/LANDSCAPING:

  • Facility Services continued installing landscape edging in the planting bed behind the Resource Center . 

 

LIONS/LSU CLINIC PERMANENT REPAIRS AND MITIGATION:

  • The electrical subcontractor installed conduit on the 9th Floor for the generator electrical lines on the Bolivar Street side chase.
    • They pulled wire for fire alarm devices on the 6th Floor, CSRB side and installed wire for the AHU on the 6th Floor, Bolivar St. side. 
  • The mechanical subcontractor set sinks in the 6th Floor Bolivar St. side restrooms.
    • They installed additional supply duct to the VAVs and continued insulating heating hot water lines and supply lines on the Bolivar St. side of the 6th Floor.
    • A crew installed control wire for the AHU on the S. Prieur Street side of the 1st Floor.
  • The sprinkler subcontractor piped from the fire pump to distribution lines in the 2nd Floor stairwells.  
  • The contractor installed the exterior signage on the Gravier Street side of the building.
    • They installed restroom partitions in the 6th Floor bathrooms and continued installing sheetrock on the 6th Floor, Gravier/Bolivar Street side of the building.
    • The top coat is being applied to the new stairwell.

 

LIBRARY COMMONS:

  • The contractor taped and floated the sheetrock ceiling in the elevator lobby and installed a wall for an emergency exit door.

 

MEB 2ND FLOOR LOBBY RENOVATIONS:

  • The contractor installed ceiling grid on the Bolivar Street side of the lobby.

 

MEB MDL 6 RENOVATIONS:

  • The contractor painted the plaster column in the main MDL room.

 

MEB PHARMACOLOGY LAB RENOVATIONS:

  • The general contractor continued to install sheetrock and insulation in the laboratory area. 

 

RESIDENCE HALL LOBBY EXPANSION: 

  • The contractor taped and floated the fur down in the lobby between the A & B Towers .
  • The concrete base for the old storefront was removed.  
  • The contractor installed additional vertical interior mullions.

 

CSRB AUTOMATIC WALKWAY INSTALLTION:

  • The contractor started the frame installation for the automatic door.
