NOTICE:Beginning at midnight Friday, March 27th and
ending by 6:00 PM on Saturday, March 28th, the chilled water at the Medical Education Building
will be out of service.This means there
will be no air conditioning in the entire building.Also, since the lab vacuum compressor is
cooled by chilled water, it will have to be shut down during this chilled water
outage.This means that there will also
be no vacuum available at any valve in the MEB.Please refrain from opening any vacuum valve during this 18 hour outage.
outage is the first phase of the MEB air handling unit replacement
project.The project will replace all
original air handling units with new units.Each floor is divided into quadrants and each quadrant is served by an
air handling unit.The first phase of
the job is for the contractor to install isolation valves for each of the four
risers serving the quadrants.These
risers are the pipes that provide the chilled water to the air handling units.
1542 TULANE AVE. :
The general contractor continued painting Rooms 111 and 111A, and continued demolition in Rooms 341, 342 and 343.
The furniture vendor continued arranging furniture in offices on the 3rd Floor.
The mechanical contractor installed a new fan coil unit in Room 342.
Facility Services continued painting and electrical repairs on the 1st and 3rd Floors.
Facility Services continued installing irrigation pipe in the rear of the Resource Center along S. Prieur St .
CLINIC PERMANENT REPAIRS AND MITIGATION:
The contractor began installing block walls in the freight elevator shaft on the 1st Floor.
Workers continued installing the stairwell roof.
They installed granite on the new stairwell on levels 4 and 5.
Additional floor tile was installed in the computer lounge.
Crews continued plastering on the 1st Floor, Bolivar Street side.
The electrical contractor began wiring the Stryker boom and boom lighting in the operating room on the 6th Floor.
They continue running data and voice cables on the new racks and cable tray in the 6th Floor network closet.
Workers began the removal of the existing underground feeders.
Stryker continued installing the boom in the 6th Floor operating room.
The contractor installed another display case.
Workers continue installing the decorative screens.
2nd FLOOR LOBBY RENOVATIONS:
The contractor continued installing lights in the center of the curved ceiling.
MDL 6 RENOVATIONS:
The general contractor stripped and waxed the floor.
PHARMACOLOGY LAB RENOVATIONS:
The contractor continued installing VCT in the lab area.
The contractor installed, taped and floated sheetrock in the closet in the office of the Department Head.
HALL LOBBY EXPANSION:
The contractor patched and skim coated the plaster wall in the C Tower lobby area.
The contractor installed linear diffusers near the back lobby of Tower A.
AUDITORIUMS A & B RENOVATIONS:
The electrical contractor installed the wall-mounted light fixtures in Auditorium B.
The general contractor installed the door for the AHU room in Auditorium B.
The mechanical contractor installed the return air louver for the AHU room in Auditorium B.
6th & 8th FLOOR LAB RENOVATIONS:
The fire alarm contractor installed wiring for the new fire alarm devices in Suite 8405 and Room 6335.
The network wiring contractor installed networking terminals and cover plates for the network drops in Suite 8405.
The general contractor cleaned the floors and cabinets, and applied touch-up paint on the walls in Suite 8405 .
