NOTICE:From 6:00 AM until 6:00 PM on Saturday, April
25th, there will be a partial chilled water outage at the Medical Education Building .This means there will be no air conditioning
in the half of the building closest to the Allied Health and Nursing Building .
There will be one more chilled water riser outage for the Medical Education Building air handling unit replacement project, and it will affect Quadrant B; the S. Roman Street/Perdido quadrant.The date has not been set for this final riser outage.
As noted previously, the project will replace all original air handling units with new units.Each floor is divided into quadrants and each quadrant is served by an air handling unit.In the first phase of the job, the contractor installed isolation valves for each of the four risers serving the quadrants.These risers are the pipes that provide the chilled water to the air handling units.This phase will have the contractor installing isolation valves on each air handling unit in the risers closest to Allied Health and Nursing Building; Risers A and C.
NOTICE:On Saturday, April 25th, from 7:00 AM until
6:00 PM, a contractor will be core drilling between the 5th and the 6th floors
in the Lions/LSU Clinics Building.Core
drilling is the process of drilling holes large enough for pipes to be run
through a concrete slab.In the case of
the Lions/LSU Clinics Building, the slab is a post-tension type.Drilling through a post-tension slab can be
dangerous.Therefore, no one is allowed
to occupy floors 5 and 6 during the above times.It is recommended that no one plan on
occupying any floor in the Lions/LSU Clinics Building during these hours. This work will provide the expanded
infrastructure needed in this building.
UPDATES:
1542 TULANE AVE. :
The general contractor continued installing the ceiling grid in Rooms 341, 342 and 343.
They continue finishing drywall in the 1st Floor lounge and priming the walls in the auditorium.
The ceiling grid contractor continued repairing the 3rd Floor hallway ceiling grid.
The cleaning contractor continued cleaning offices on the 3rd Floor along the center hallway.
Facility Services continued making electrical repairs on the 1st and 3rd Floors and painting the 3rd Floor.
EXTERIOR/LANDSCAPING:
Facility Services laid sod at the corner of S. Roman St. and Perdido St .
LIONS/LSU
CLINIC PERMANENT REPAIRS AND MITIGATION:
The contractor installed ceiling tiles around the Stryker equipment in the simulation rooms.
Workers continued framing and sheet rocking the shaft walls of the stairwell on the 5th and 6th levels.
Crews grouted the new granite pavers around the base of the new stairwell and caulked the granite wall panels on the new stairwell.
The contractor demolished the east wall in the old main telephone room on the 1st Floor.
The electrical contractor pulled the new fiber and 200 pair cables from the 2nd Floor to the new network closet on the 6th Floor.
They removed conduit from the 5th Floor ceiling in preparation for the core drilling that is scheduled for the weekend.
Stryker installed cables in the large lecture room on the 6th Floor.

COMMONS:
The furniture contractor completed placing the new furniture.
The contractor installed the restroom partitions in Womens restroom and began the installation in the Mens restroom.
They completed the repairs to the custom furniture.
Workers installed additional wall covering in the Library.

RENOVATION:
The contractor completed demolishing the old ceiling; removing the ceiling tiles and grid.
Workers removed light fixtures and disconnected receptacle outlets.
The existing casework, countertops and plumbing fixtures have been removed.

2nd FLOOR LOBBY RENOVATIONS:
The contractor continued installing the fur down across from the elevators and began installing surface mount light fixtures.
The wall panel contractor continued installing wall panels along the Medical Center Stores wall.

PHARMACOLOGY LAB RENOVATIONS:
The contractor applied the final coat of paint in the lab area of the administrative space.
The contractor installed covers on light switches and outlets in the administrative area.
ALLIED
HEALTH/NURSING RE-ROOFING PROJECT:
The contractor installed insulation and a cap along both sides of the elevator penthouses.
RESIDENCE
HALL LOBBY EXPANSION:
The interior contractor raised and turned down the sprinkler heads underneath the mezzanine level between the A & B Towers .
DENTAL SCHOOL
AUDITORIUM A & B RENOVATIONS:
The electrical contractor installed additional conduit and junction boxes in the crosswalk outside Room 4202.

The contractor installed cable lines from the 1st Floor switchgear room to the 1st Floor riser closet in the Lions Building .
