NOTICE:  Two new air handling units for the Medical Education Building Air Handling Replacement project are scheduled to be delivered tonight after 6:00 PM.  In order to take delivery of the units being stored in the T-lot at the corner of Gravier Street and South Roman Street , the contractor must erect a crane and close the section of South Roman Street between Gravier Street and the Roman Street Garage exit.  Cars exiting the Roman Street garage will be required to turn left and proceed towards Tulane Avenue .  South Roman Street will reopen to thru traffic by 9:00 PM.

 

NOTICE:  Retesting of the 7th floor Resource Center fire alarm speakers and strobes will occur on Thursday, May 28th, beginning at 6:00 AM and will last less than one hour.  At the beginning of the testing, an announcement will be made explaining that this is only a test and no evacuation is needed.  It is possible that testing will need to be repeated.  If additional tests are required, an announcement will precede each test.  Testing and retesting, if necessary, will be complete by 7:00 AM.

 

1542 TULANE AVE. :

  • Clinical faculty and staff from the Department of Medicine are being moved into the 4th Floor.  Faculty and staff from the Department of Radiology are being moved into the 3rd Floor. 
  • The contractor removed the paint overspray from the auditorium floors on the 1st level.
  • The electrical contractor installed conduit for the exterior illuminated bollards and up-lighting along Tulane Ave.  
  • LSUHSC Computer Services Networking Group finished checking the phone lines on the 3rd Floor. 
  • LSUHSC Facility Services continues painting the corridor on the 2nd Floor.

 

LIONS/LSU CLINIC PERMANENT REPAIRS AND MITIGATION:    

  • The contractor has been given a punch list of items to be completed prior to the scheduled inspection by the State Fire Marshal on 5/29/09.  This inspection has been requested in anticipation of being granted beneficial occupancy of the 6th Floor on 6/1/09.
  • The electrical contractor continued removing pipe and wire from the old switchgear.
  • The contractor continued installing ceiling panels in the 6th floor computer lounge.

 

LIONS BUILDING 8th FLOOR NETWORK CLOSET: 

  • The contractor ran chill water piping.

 

RESIDENCE HALL LOBBY EXPANSION:

  • The floor contractor grouted floor tile in the expanded lobby area. 
  • The interior contractor installed pendant light fixtures in the corner lobby of S. Roman St. and Perdido St . 

 

MEB AIR HANDLING UNIT REPLACEMENT:

  • The contractor cored and installed new floor drains in mechanical rooms 2A, 4A, 6B and 7B. 
  • Facility Services continued staging temporary air conditioning units and completed installing temporary electrical panels to support the temporary air conditioning for 6th and 7th Floor, Quadrant D.

 

MEB 2ND FLOOR LOBBY RENOVATION:

  • The wall contractor began laying out the walls by Lecture Hall B.

 

MEB MDL 3 RENOVATIONS:

  • The contractor continued installing sheetrock and insulation around the steel track. 
  • They completed stubbing up plumbing for the casework. 
  • The contractor installed ground wires for the 2x4 light fixtures.

 

MEB PHARMACOLOGY LAB RENOVATIONS:

  • The contractor worked on general cleaning in the lab area.

     

DENTAL SCHOOL AUDITORIUMS A & B RENOVATIONS:

  • The contractor installed additional framing and acoustical wall panels in Auditorium A along the east and west walls (south wall installation complete). 
  • The contractor installed door hardware for the doors in Auditoriums B. 
  • The electrical contractor installed wiring for the AV and Access Grid power outlets in Room 4202B.
