NOTICE:  Due to a scheduling conflict, the Fire Marshal has rescheduled the test of the fire alarm system in the Dental School Administration Building and Clinic Building .  The new time for the alarm testing is Tuesday, June 30th, from 1:00PM to 2:00PM.  The fire alarm contractor will make an announcement to let building occupants know that the alarms are being tested and that evacuation will not be necessary during these tests.  The contractor will then activate fire alarm devices in the recently renovated auditoriums.  This will activate the fire alarm strobes and audible alarms (speakers and horns) throughout both buildings.  When testing has concluded, an announcement will be made notifying all occupants that testing is complete.  Because there are areas of the building that only have alarm horns, not speakers, some occupants may not hear the announcements.

NOTICE:  Over the 4th of July holiday, a contractor will be resurfacing the elevated walkway with a durable surface intended to last several years.  Consequently, access to the elevated walkway from the parking garage, the Lions/LSU Clinics Building, the Allied Health/Nursing Building, the Clinical Sciences Research Building , and the Medical Education Building will be closed from 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 2nd, through 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 5th.  The contractor will start removing the old walking surface on the walkway Wednesday morning, July 1st.  On Thursday morning, July 2nd, the contractor will start applying trim coating around the edges of the walkway.  These steps will not impede foot traffic or require closing the walkway.  On Thursday, July 2nd, at 6:00 PM, the contractor will close the walkway and commence application of the new walkway coating.

The Library in the Resource Center Building will close at noon on Thursday, July 2nd, and will reopen at 8:00 AM on Monday, July 6th.  Access to the Allied Health/Nursing Building and the Medical Education Building will be through the front door on the first floor of the respective buildings.  Access to the Resource Center Building for authorized Computer Services, Campus Police and Facilities personnel only will be through the loading dock.  Access to the Lions/LSU Clinics Building and the Clinical Sciences Research Building will be through the Lions/LSU Clinics Building's front door on the first floor.  The connecting bridge on the fifth floor of the Lions/LSU Clinics Building will provide access to the CSRB.

1542 TULANE AVE. :

• The electrical contractor installed light fixtures in Room 108A.
• The furniture contractor set-up conference room furniture and cubicles in the 2nd Floor offices along Tulane Avenue . 
• The cleaning contractor cleaned 2nd floor offices along the center corridor Tulane Ave.
• Facility Services painted and made electrical repairs in the Auditorium.

ALLIED HEALTH/NURSING RE-ROOFING PROJECT:

• The contractor continued installing the sheet metal flashing along the Roman St. side of the roof.
• The first and second coats of paint were applied in the Stairwell C penthouse. 

LIONS/LSU CLINIC PERMANENT REPAIRS AND MITIGATION:

• The contractor started pulling electrical wires for the conference room along Bolivar Street . 

LIONS EYE WALKWAY DOOR INSTALLATION:

• The contractor provided power and configured the sliding walkway door.

RESIDENCE HALL 2nd FLOOR LOBBY EXPANSION:  

• The contractor started installing the wavy ceiling grid in the expanded lobby area. 
• Workers continued installing ceiling grid in the recreation room and relocated sprinkler heads.

MEB AIR HANDLING UNIT REPLACEMENT:

• Facility Services continues to monitor and adjust the C Quadrant 6th and 7th Floor temporary A/C units. 
• The contractor continued installing controls for air handling units 6D and 7D and ductwork, piping, insulation and electrical for AHUs 6C and 7C.

MEB 2nd FLOOR LOBBY RENOVATIONS:

• The contractor completed installing the tile wall base. 
• The free standing furniture has been delivered.

MEB MDL #3 RENOVATIONS:

• The casework contractor continued installing the sink base cabinets and countertops with plumbing fixtures. 
• The contractor installed flex ducts and HVAC grilles. 
• The A/V contractor installed speakers and LCD wall mounts. 

DENTAL SCHOOL AUDITORIUMS A & B RENOVATIONS:

• The contractor installed custom baseboard along the west wall of Auditorium B. 
• They installed the hardware for the double-doors at the main entrance of Auditorium B.
