NOTICE: The Medical Education Building Air Handling Unit Replacement project continues with the installation of two more air handling units.  The next two air handling units to be replaced serve the South Roman Street/MEB loading dock corner of the 6th and 7th floors.  Installation of these units will start at 6:00 PM on Friday, July 31st, and be completed by August 14th.  In order to remove the old units and install the new units, the contractor will erect a crane on South Roman Street at the intersection with the MEB loading dock.  Subsequently, South Roman Street will be closed from the intersection with Perdido Street to the MEB loading dock from 9:00 AM on Friday, July 31st, until 9:00 PM on Sunday, August 2nd.  The sidewalk along South Roman Street adjacent to the MEB will also be closed to pedestrian traffic.  This is required to protect pedestrians from any falling objects while work is being preformed overhead.

NOTICE: On Saturday, August 1st, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM there will be an electrical shutdown at the Lions/LSU Clinics Building.  This shutdown is needed to allow Entergy to repair a transformer in the building.  Normal power will be off in the entire building during this period, but emergency power will be on to maintain emergency lights and to power some specific equipment in the building – items that are plugged into the red receptacles.  This normal power outage will cause the following service interruptions:

  • An air conditioning outage.  There will be no air conditioning in the building for the duration of the shutdown.  The 9th floor Animal Care facility is an exception.

  • A perchloric acid exhaust outage.  This will affect all perchloric acid fume hoods.
  • A medical air and vacuum outage.  There will be no medical air or vacuum at any valve in the labs.  Please do not open any valves during the outage.
