It’s the 7th anniversary of the Libraries’ blog and we’re definitely feeling lucky despite our numbers being in the unlucky 1300′s. It’s OK, we’ll hit 1400 by May probably. Of those 1379 posts, 117 were published within the last calendar year.
We try to publish timely information on outages and changes to our subscribed products. But if there is anything we’re missing, don’t hesitate to tell us.
The LSUHSC Libraries News (this blog) has changed it’s address. The new URL is http://www.lsuhsc.edu/library/news/ which aligns with the newly redesigned website.
The LSUHSC Libraries News blog turns 6 today. We have published over 1200 posts over the last 6 years.
Unfortunately, we’ve run out of traditional/modern gifts to discuss…at least until we make it to 10 years.
Please let us know if there is a subject you’d like to see covered that we’ve been missing.
Last night the Libraries’ blog, Library News, got a makeover. ?áIt is now sporting the new look that will gradually be implemented to all campus webpages.
?á March 29th is the anniversary of the Library’s Blog (formally known as LSUHSC Libraries News) and today is our 5th anniversary. We have over 1000 posts, with 20?á?á authors. We strive to keep this space informative and interesting. Thanks to everyone for reading and to all our authors/commenters for contributing.
?á In case you were wondering, the traditional and modern 5th annivesary gift is wood.
The software for the library blog was updated last night.?á You’ll notice some differences?áin the layout. The long list of dates is now a dropdown menu with the most recent information first (essential as we come up on our 5th anniversary) and also the broad categories which we use to organize the blog are also in a dropdown menu.
Enjoy & let us know what you think.
The Library blog will be down beginning around 5 pm today (Thursday, January 26th) for a scheduled upgrade. It should be back up by 7 pm.
*Edit* The blog update was complete by 6 pm. Thanks for your patience.
The Libraries’ blog is 4 years old today, born 3/29/2007. Entries have been made by 20 different members of the Library staff (out of a total of 22 at both Isché and Dental). We are up to about 900 posts with 53 categories and 79 tags.
The traditional gifts in the US are linen or silk; the modern gift is electrical appliances; while the Libraries are not in need of linen, silk or appliances, we will always accept donations to our acquisitions fund. Contact our Head of Collection Development for more information.
Today (March 29th) the Libraries’ blog (LSUHSC-NO Libraries News is the formal name) will celebrate it’s 3rd anniversary. This post will be the 736th since we started with 17 authors, 48 categories, and 50 tags. The 18 authors is the most significant number to me; the entire Library Staff (both at the Isché & Dental Libraries) is only 22 people. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to make the blog a success.
As for our readers, is there a topic we’ve been missing? Or something you’d like to see more of? Please don’t hesitate to let us know. On to year 4!
And in case you were wondering, the traditional gift is leather and the modern gift is crystal. The leather would probably be more practical in the Library; perhaps a donated volume?
The LSUHSC Libraries’ Blog has been upgraded to WordPress v.2.8.4. The transition for our readers should appear seamless (but if it doesn’t please let me know). The biggest change is that the blog now works with campus security protocols. So if you would like to make a comment AND you’re an LSUHSC user, you can just login with your regular LSUHSC userid & password. For those non-LSUHSC readers, you are still welcome to create a login as a subscriber and comment away.
This blog will be down for maintennance beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23rd for approximately an hour.
Today is the 2nd anniversary of the LSUHSC New Orleans Libraries’ Blog. (No need for gifts, but the traditional gift is cotton and the modern gift is china.) In the last 2 years, we have published 452 posts which is a new post approximately every 1.6 days. We have had 8 authors and over 50 categories. Is there a subject that we’ver overlooked? Or something exciting/interesting/odd that you want us to focus on? Please don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re looking forward to great year 3. Thanks to all the Library Staff who have contributed.
