The Public Library of Science (PLoS) is a non-profit organization of scientists and physicians committed to making the world's scientific and medical literature a freely available public resource.
PLoS normally covers the costs of publishing by levying a processing charge of $1500 for each article published. Among the benefits of LSUHSC Library's institutional membership is qualification for all researchers at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans to only be charged $750.
