Cost Accounting -
Space Survey
State and Federal regulations require LSUHSC-NO to maintain an accurate
inventory of space for all buildings that LSUHSC-NO owns or leases. This
information supports LSUHSC-NO's Federal Facilities and Administrative (F&A)
cost proposal and LSUHSC-NO's F&A cost rate.
The Fiscal Year 2009 Space Survey will be
conducted by collecting information about room use and room occupant(s). In
addition, for space containing sponsored research activities, the survey teams
will document the appropriate accounts or chart field combinations funding the
work. The survey process will involve a review, validation and update of the
space-related information on a room-by-room basis. We will be asking
departments to prepare for the survey by reviewing the preliminary information
provided and gathering the additional information required.
Training sessions are being scheduled for
November 17th and 18th. Materials and information will be provided in these
sessions to help facilitate the Space Survey process.
