CM-3
Expenses for Invited Visitors
February
20, 1973
It is the policy of the LSU Health Sciences Center to
pay the basic expenses of visitors invited to the
medical center for the purposes of:
|
|
-
Position interviews
-
Making contributions to the teaching, research
or service functions of the Schools of the
Health Sciences Center.
|
It is inherent in this policy that these visits become
valuable public relations assets.
When such visitors are invited, it should be
accomplished in writing, countersigned by the
appropriate Dean.
A copy of the invitation should accompany a travel
voucher, submitted to the Office of the Comptroller
two weeks prior to the visit. By this method, a check
will be available for the visitor upon arrival. The
voucher need not be signed by the visitor.
Maximum expenses to be paid through a
University-controlled account are:
|
|
-
Living expenses @ $30/diem.
-
A lump sum of $20.00 for tips & taxis.
-
Air-fare abound trip economy jet rates.
-
Honorarium (for lecturers, consultants, etc.,
but not for those being interviewed for a
position). If in excess of $50.00/diem, this
requires approval from this Office.
