Helpful Tips for Placing Ads in Times-Picayune
- Please have a completed Times-Picayune for any ad
placement in the Times-Picayune. Please click on the
following link for the Times-Picayune requisition -
Request for Ad Placement.
- To reduce lines and costs, use "LSUHSC-NO is AA/EOE".
- Remember when placing an ad in the Times-Picayune, it
takes two days to make any type of change, i.e., to add or
delete text material, to extend or cancel an ad. For example:
A department sends HR an ad on a Thursday to be placed for
Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, the department calls and
would like to change the ad text. We can make the change for
Sunday, but it would be too late to make the change for
Saturday.
- If you do not wish to use "BOLD" in the body of your ad,
please indicate this on the requisition. When "BOLD" type is
used for one or more words in an ad, a 10% charge is added to
the total cost of the ad.
- Titles are helpful but not required. If a title is used,
the ad will be placed in alphabetical order (according to the
title) for each section, such as, "Professional/Technical or
Medical". Titles are typed in 12 point caps (font), centered,
in BOLD type. If a title is "not" used, the ad will be
alphabetized according to the first word or two in the
beginning sentence.
- When drafting an ad, please note the little things such as
font size, spacing, etc., that may add to your cost. For
instance, if you "double space" the text, the Times-Picayune
will double space. This will add to your lines used adding to
your cost.
- Should a department find any type of discrepancies
regarding their ad, please call Human Resources as soon as
possible. We will intercede in the matter and attempt to
resolve the issue.
