The Digital Media Committee
Prior to submitting any LSU Digital Media to an entity outside LSU, the
author(s) shall first submit a disclosure of the project to this Committee.
It is the Committee's responsibility to determine, on a case-by-case basis,
whether the LSU Digital Media shall be treated as an LSU Work or as LSU
Software as defined by the Bylaws and Regulations for the LSU Board of
Supervisors, Chapter VII Intellectual Property, including whether or not an
express, written release of copyright to the author(s) is appropriate by
analogy to Section 7-4(a).
As there are representatives from each school on the Committee, contact
the appropriate Committee member at the earliest point in your creative
process so that your school representative can help you determine what needs
to be done at the start of the process. This is especially important when
negotiations with an outside party are involved.
