Conflict of Interest in Sponsored Research 

Responsible Conduct in Research

  • Office of Research Integrity (ORI) - ORI promotes integrity in biomedical and behavioral research supported by the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS). ORI monitors institutional investigations of research misconduct and facilitates the responsible conduct of research through educational, preventive, and regulatory activities.  The institution is required to report to ORI on a yearly basis any presumed cases of misconduct in research that violate ORI and institutional policy.

  • LSUHSC-NO Policy on Reporting Misconduct in Research - This policy meets federal requirements and is available in Section 10.7 of the LSUHSC-NO Faculty Handbook.

Funding Opportunities (Electronic Search and Notification Services)

  • Grants.gov - This site allows organizations and individuals to electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all Federal grant-making agencies.

  • GrantsNet - A searchable database of funding opportunities in biomedical research and science education. It contains programs that offer training and research funding for graduate and medical students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty. Special tools and resources allow customization of searches, provide updates on latest trends in research and education funding, and provide information on writing grant applications.

  • Illinois Research Information Service - IRIS is a searchable database of science funding opportunities offered by government agencies and private foundations.  This service will also, automatically provide by email the results of a daily, weekly or monthly search of your selected key words against the IRIS database.  This subscription service is supported by the Chancellor’s Office and is free to LSUHSC-NO users.

  • LaSmarts and Spin - LaSmarts provides daily funding opportunity alerts by email based on your keyword selection.  SPIN allows searches of the InfoEd International database for science funding opportunities.  These services are provided free through support of the LA Board of Regents.
