FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

To quote a federal program officer, "While there may be no right time to submit an application, it is a virtual certainty that you will not receive funds if you do not request them!" Individuals seek funds for a specific idea, to respond to an agency's request for an application, or to pursue an interest in a topic of immediate concern.

In an effort to provide up-to-date funding information, LSUHSC utilizes an information service which provides access to potential funding sources. It is designed to assist faculty in locating potential federal, private, and corporate foundation sponsors for their research interests. A brief synopsis of each program includes:

1. Sponsor name
2. Program type code
3. Keyword code
4. Deadline dates
5. Program title
6. Program objectives
7. Restrictions which would affect the submission of a proposal
8. Contact address and telephone number

Forms for usage are available in the Research Office, 433 Bolivar Street, Room 206, 568-4970 (see sample on Page 1.2).
