LSUHSC requires formal research agreements with for-profit sponsoring agencies. In addition, subcontracts are required when other non-profit agencies serve as the primary grantee. Each agreement must contain the scope of work, standard clauses, expenditure budget, etc.
When research agreements or subcontracts are prepared wherein payment will be provided to LSUHSC, it is routed with a GGP Checklist, two originals of the appropriate agreement, and an expenditure budget. When LSUHSC will serve as a subcontractor or subgrantee, a Statement of Intent to Establish a Consortium Agreement must be prepared (see sample on page 7.26). Samples for Government (see page 7.3-7.13) and Non-Government Funded Research Agreements (see page 7.14-7.25) are included in this section.
Before negotiating with a sponsor, the PI should review sample contract/ subcontract/agreement containing clauses required by the State of Louisiana and LSUHSC (in this section). IF SPONSOR WILL INITIATE CONTRACT/SUBCONTRACT/ AGREEMENT, make available to them the LSUHSC sample in order to avoid unnecessary delays.
Professional service, consulting and other contracts where LSUHSC will pay out funds are routed to the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance. Contracts over $10,000 are submitted to the State Office of Contract Review and must have the signature of the contracting party. For further information regarding these documents, please contact the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance (568-5135).
