Use of the La Carte P-Card

Use of the La Carte Purchasing Card may be used wherever Visa is accepted, following University Purchasing policy and procedures. This convenient purchasing tool may be used directly at a storefront or for orders via the phone, fax, or online. Suggested uses include operating supplies, lab equipment, computer equipment, conference registration fees, professional memberships and dues. The Purchasing Card is to be used for LSUHSC business only, not for personal use. All transactions made using La Carte must benefit and support the University's mission of education, research, and public service. Fraudulent or intentional misuse of the card will result in cancellation of the card and/or possible criminal charges.

*If using a third-party credit card vendor (example PayPal) is the only viable payment option for an on-line purchase, pre-authorization from either Danielle Burlison, Rob Parker, or Judith Anderson will have to be obtained. This can be done via e-mail explaining in detail the nature of your intended purchase. Please keep in mind that utilizing services like Pay-Pal are highly discouraged and pre-authorization is required on all transactions of this type.

1099 Reportables

**You should always ask a vendor if they are a 1099 reportable before the transaction is placed. If they are, the item can not be purchased on your p-card. A 1099 reportable vendor can be identified by the following:

• If the companys name is a persons name
• If the word service is in the vendors name
• If the companys name does not include Corp, Inc. or PC
