Direct Pay Check Request - Mail Services

PLEASE SUBMIT A DIRECT PAY CHECK REQUEST FORM TO MAIL SERVICES IN THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES:

 

SPECIAL DEPARTMENT REQUEST:

Special department requests are appropriate when the department needs accountability for all funds. An example of this type of mail would be a government program that requires proof of all expenditures regardless of the amount.

Bulk Mailings:

  • Mailings totaling over fifty dollars ($50.00) which would be equivalent to 113 pieces of mail at forty-four cents (.44) for each piece.
  • Multiple flats with number 10 envelopes totaling fifty dollars ($50.00) or more.

United Parcel Service (UPS):

All packages being sent UPS regardless of the dollar amount.

United States Postal Express:

All mail sent US Postal Express overnight delivery. Flat rate starting at ($18.30) for 8oz. or more for each peice.

Registered Mail with or without Insurance:

Mail sent to and received by a specific recipient. Mailings totaling 4 pieces based on .44- cent postage plus the following charges:

Postage: $ 0.44
Return Receipt Green Card: $ 2.30
Handling Fee: $ 10.60
Total Postage: $ 13.34

Insured Mail:

Mail sent with great importance that has a dollar value and could be lost or damaged. Mailings totaling over 15 pieces of mail based on insurance amount, from $0-$50 dollars. (Insurance is based on the value of the package.)

Postage: $0.44
Insurance: $1.75
Return Receipt Card: $2.30
Total Postage (one piece): $4.49

Certified Mail:

Certified mail totaling over fifty dollars ($50.00). This is nine (9) pieces of mail at forty-one cents (.44) postage. When calculating certified mail, always add the following charges plus postage to each piece of mail.

Postage: $0.44
Return Receipt Card: $2.30
Certified Fee: $2.80
Total Postage (one piece): $5.54

Return Postage Paid Envelopes:

Return postage paid envelopes totaling fifty dollars ($50.00) or more which is equivalent to 113 pieces of mail at fort-four cents (.44) each piece.

Priority Mail:

Mail sent first class up to one pound costs $4.95 for all number 8 tracking zone. Zone stands for the location the mail is being sent. This would be eleven (11) pieces of mail with forty-four cent postage (.44). Mail sent first class over one pound and not over two pounds costs $4.95 for zones one through three. This would be eleven (11) pieces of mail with forty-four cent postage (.44). All other zones at the above mentioned weight would depend on the destination of the mail.

International Mail (Airmail):

All airmail totaling fifty dollars ($50.00) or more. Mail being sent airmail should be properly addressed. Information on postage for airmail letters and packages can be accessed through the 1-800 number listed on the handout attached. There is also a handling fee for each piece of airmail. When sending airmail it is very important to add the city, providence and the specific country. Country is often omitted from the address, which causes delay in handling. Always type or print the word AIRMAIL on the front and back of each piece sent.
