Using Auxiliaries

When making purchases at the LSU Health Sciences Center, you may choose to use Auxiliary Enterprises (Campus Office Stores, Medical Center Stores, Microsystems, etc.) OR solicit competitive quotes from outside vendors. Purchases made through Auxiliaries will be billed to the department on a monthly basis.

If quotes obtained from Auxiliaries do not satisfy your request, and you choose to get competitive quotes from outside vendors, YOU MUST AWARD TO THE LOWEST OUTSIDE BIDDER.  Once the determination is made to get competitive outside quotations, you cannot go back to use Auxiliaries, even if they turn out to be less expensive.  Quotes from Auxiliaries CANNOT be counted for regulatory purposes (i.e. one of the 5 fax quotes for a purchase over $5,000).
