Electronic Reference Service

Are you stretched too thin? Do you need answers but just can't get to the Library? Well, we have the answer to your problems!

The Library is offering, for the very first time, a brand new Electronic Reference Service link removed. From the privacy and convenience of your own home or any other computer with Internet access, you can ask easy, ready reference questions and receive an answer in ONE WORKING DAY (holidays and weekends do not apply)! You can get the answers to such questions as…
  • What is "red diaper" syndrome?
  • What is the 800 number for Majors Booksellers?
  • What is the address for M.D. Anderson Hospital's Department of Family Medicine?
  • Which database should I use to obtain citations to journal articles about nursing theory?

All these questions and more can be answered by clicking on the Electronic Reference Service icon on the LSUHSC Library Homepage and then entering your LSUHSC ID and password. These are the same ID and password you use to access Ovid and your email account. An information screen will appear and ask you to provide some information, then type and send your question. The questions are answered by the Library's knowledgeable and friendly Reference Librarians. It is as easy as pie!! So hurry to ask YOUR question today!!
