Two more databases, HaPI and Mental Measurements Yearbook, are now available to the LSUHSC community for referencing a variety of standardized testing instruments:
HaPI (Health and Psychosocial Instruments) is available through Ovidlink removed. It contains 95,000 records of behavioral measurements and instruments, including references to many studies that describe the uses of these instruments. A rich source of measurement information, HaPI can refer you to standardized questionnaires, coding schemes, rating scales, checklists, tests and other means of evaluation.
Mental Measurements Yearbook is accessible through the Library's homepagelink removed.
For On-Campus Access:
Just click on Additional Search Systems, then WebSPIRS/Silver Platter.
For Off-Campus Access (An LSUHSC barcode is necessary for access.):
Click on Additional Search Systems, then Remote/Academic.
MMY contains information about, and reviews of English-language standardized tests. The tests involve educational skills, personality, vocational aptitude, psychology and related areas as included in the printed Mental Measurements Yearbooks. For each test, the database provides the edition number(or numbers) of the Mental Measurements Yearbook in which the test was originally described.
While both of these additions are intended to be "user friendly," our Reference Librarians can help patrons seeking assistance. For further information or assistance, please contact the Library's Reference Department at 568-6102 or 568-8339, or the Dental Library at 619-8507.
