Carolyn K. Bridgewater, MLS, MSW, Reference Librarian at the John P. Isché Library (Resource Center), has been appointed to the NN/LM SCR Consumer Health Advisory Committee.

Hanna Kwasik, MLIS, Serials Librarian, presented a poster, "Hiring Odyssey - Qualifications for a Serials Librarian in an Electronic Age" at the North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG) in San Antonio, Texas, in May.

Jennifer K. Lloyd, MLIS, Circulation & InterLibrary Loan Manager / Web Coordinator for the Library, has been named co-chair of the Access Services Special Interest Group (SIG) for the Public Services Section of MLA. She has also been appointed to the Fundraising Committee for SCC/MLA.

Mary L. Marix, MLS, AHIP, Reference Librarian, has been awarded one of the 2001 Pfizer Excellence Awards (See related story).

Wilba Swearingen, MA, MLS, AHIP, Library Director, has been appointed to the AMIGOS 2002 Conference Advisory Committee, as well as the Local Arrangements Committee for the 2002 American Library Association Mid-Winter Meeting and the Anthony H. Benoit Mid-Career Award Committee for the Louisiana Library Association.
