Marlene Bishop, Acquisitions/Collection Development Libarian, presented a poster entitled "Handling Border Crossing: Electronic Journal Management in the South Central Region" at the Annual Meeting of the South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (SCC/MLA) in El Paso, Texas in October. She has also been invited to join the Beta Phi Mu Library Honor Society.
Carolyn K. Bridgewater, Reference Librarian at the John P. Isché Library (Resource Center), has been elected Vice President/President-Elect of the Health Sciences Library Association of Louisiana (HSLAL).
James Hartgers moved from Circulation at the John P. Isché Library to Document Delivery/Technical Services.
Jennifer Kelly Hill, Evening Reference Librarian at the John P. Isché Library (Resource Center), has been appointed as Chair of the SCC/MLA Awards & Scholarships Committee.
Kathryn E. Kerdolff, Reference Librarian at the John P. Isché Library (Resource Center), presented a contributed paper, "Crossing State Borders: Linking State Morbidity Publications on the Web" at the Annual Meeting of SCC/MLA in El Paso, Texas in October.
Jennifer K. Lloyd, Circulation & Interlibrary Loan Manager/Web Coordinator for the John P. Isché Library, presented a poster entitled "Bordering on Insanity: Inventorying Monographs and Serials" at the Annual Meeting of SCC/MLA in El Paso, Texas in October. She has also been appointed Chair of the Continuing Education Committee for HSLAL.
Lisa Scanlon joined the Library Staff in January as a Technical Services Associate. She previously worked at Tulane Medical Center Library.
Wilba Swearingen, Director of Libraries, has been appointed Co-Chair of Local Arrangements for the Triple Chapter meeting of the Medical Library Association (South Central, Southern, and Mid-Continental Chapters) to take place in New Orleans in October 2001.
David Wolff, Day Circulation Associate at the John P. Isché Library, has been participating in a series of studies at the National Biodynamics Laboratory located at the NASA Michoud Assembly Center.
