Library Bulletin Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Library -- New Orleans

Marlene Bishop, MLIS, AHIP, Head of Collection Development, has been elected Treasurer of the Health Sciences Library Association of Louisiana (HSLAL).

Carolyn K. Bridgewater, MLIS, MSW, Reference Librarian, received a National Network of Libraries of Medicine, South Central Region (NN/LM, SCR) Professional Development Award. She used the award to attend the ERSI Health GIS Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona in October. Carolyn also renewed as a member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) at the Distinguished member level.

Sabrina Caston joined the Isché Library in November as a Circulation Associate. She is a native New Orleanian and graduated from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia.

Zerita Dupre joined the Dental Library in October as a Circulation Associate. She worked previously for the UNO Library.

Kathryn E. Kerdolff, MLIS, AHIP, Reference Librarian, was accepted into the Academy for the Advancement of Educational Scholarship at LSU Health Sciences Center-New Orleans at the Master Teacher level.

Molly Knapp, MA, Reference Librarian, was accepted into the Academy for the Advancement of Educational Scholarship at LSU Health Sciences Center-New Orleans at the Fellow level.

Jennifer K. Lloyd, MLIS, AHIP, Information Technology & ILL Librarian, renewed as a member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP), moving from Senior to Distinguished member level.

Wilba Swearingen, MA, MLS, AHIP, Library Director, has been named chair of the SCAMeL Nominating Committee and also chair of the Bylaws Committee of the Hospital Library Interest Section of the South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (HLIS/SCC/MLA).
