Carolyn K. Bridgewater, MLIS, MSW, Reference Librarian at the John P. Isché Library (Resource Center), has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor.

Pauline Fulda, MS, AHIP, Associate Director of the Library, has been appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of the Medical Library Association. Additionally, she has been selected as the Associate Editor to the Proceedings of the Medical Library Association, published each January in JMLA.

Valerie Hernandez, Dental Circulation Associate, had a photo selected for inclusion in the Annual LSUHSC School of Dentistry Photo Contest. The Photo Contest is held in memory of Dr. Murray Matthews, Professor of Anatomy, whose numerous photos of flowers brighten the walls of the Dental Library. The seven winning photographs in the 2001 contest will be on display in the 4th floor breezeway of the Dental School through 2002. Valerie's photo is of her two cats, Tristan and TJ. She received her first camera for her 16th birthday, and studied photography in high school and college.

Jennifer Kelly Hill, MLIS, Evening Reference Librarian at the John P. Isché Library (Resource Center), left the Library following the birth of twin daughters on March 3, 2002.

Hanna Kwasik, MLIS, Serials Librarian, has had an article published in Serials Review. The article is entitled: Qualifications for a Serials Librarian in an Electronic Environment.

Kathryn E. Kerdolff, MLIS, AHIP, Reference Librarian at the John P. Isché Library (Resource Center), has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor.

Julie Schiavo, MLIS, AHIP, Reference Librarian at the Dental Library, has been accepted for membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals at the Provisional level.

Elizabeth Strother, MLS, AHIP, Head Librarian at Dental Library, is co-chair of the LSUSD Faculty Development Committee for 2000/2001 and 2001/2002; she coordinated the Dental School faculty retreat on May 30-31 in St. Francisville, Louisiana. The program topic was Research and Teaching: Making the Connection. About 65 faculty attended the 2-day retreat which included a cocktail party at Catalpa Plantation
