Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Library -- New Orleans

The Library now subscribes to three McGraw-Hill's databases: Access Emergency Medicine, Access Medicine and Access Surgery. Each of these provides access to full-text books, as well as point-of-care clinical information. All three databases are available on and off campus(link removed).
AccessEmergency Medicine(link removed) allows users to quickly research the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of emergency cases. Answers can be found for a broad spectrum of complaints encountered in the ER, ranging from obstetrical emergencies to orthopedic emergencies to poisoning to trauma. Online books include:

Emergency Ultrasound
Pediatric Emergency Medicine, 2nd Ed.

Goldfrank's manual of Toxicologic Emergencies
Procedures (some in video) are also covered with need to know-indications, contraindications, approaches, materials and complications. The complete text of Reichman's Emergency Medicine Procedures is supplemented with clear illustrations of anatomy. Additionally, AccessEmergency Medicine includes a library of images with common and uncommon clinical presentations and imaging studies of children and adults which allows for quick diagnosis. Finally, it also offers drug information which includes complete chemical structure and dosing information, adverse reactions, indications and contraindications, as well as patient education in English and Spanish and full-color photos of all formulations.
AccessMedicine.com(link removed) provides access to clinical information with a digital collection of tools including web-based, PDA, iPod, and MP3. The Clinical Library and the LANGE Education Library, online book resources, provide information needed for clinical decision making and review guides; these libraries include the following titles:
