Pauline O. Fulda, Associate Director, was awarded a William D. Postell, Sr. Professional Development Award from the South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (SCC/MLA).

Patrick J. Garon joined the Library Staff in June as an Evening Circulation Associate at the John P. Isché Library (Resource Center). He is a recent graduate of Boston College.

Valerie Herndandez joined the Library Staff in July as a Dental Circulation Associate. She is a Louisiana native returning from Kentucky. She has experience in both academic and public libraries in Shreveport.

Kathryn E. Kerdolff, Reference Librarian at the Isché Library, presented an electronic poster, "An Odyssey through Gray Literature Access by the Establishment of a Web Searchable State Morbidity Database" at the Annual Meeting of the Medical Library Association in Orlando, Florida in May. She has been renewed as a member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals at the Distinguished level, their highest honor. She was also the recipient of the ISI/Frank Bradway Rogers Information Advancement Award (See related story).

Jennifer K. Lloyd, Circulation & Interlibrary Loan Manager/Web Coordinator for the John P. Isché Library, was awarded a William D. Postell, Sr. Professional Development Award from the South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (SCC/MLA).

Gene Meneray, Evening Circulation Associate at the Isché Library, resigned in February for a position with the Arts Council of New Orleans.

Vern Parker, Circulation Associate at the Dental Library, retired at the end of April. His university service included time at UNO and SUNO, as well as LSUHSC. His good spirits and sense of fun will be missed by all.

Wilba Swearingen, Director of Libraries, has been renewed as a member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals at the Distinguished level, their highest honor.

Amy Woodruff joined the Library Staff in April as a Day Circulation Associate at the Isché Library. She is a McNeese University graduate who directs a theater company, Theatre Louisiane link removed, in her spare time.
