| Description: | 1950 to present MEDLINE is the National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and the preclinical sciences, as well as some aspects of biology, environmental science, marine biology, plant and animal science, biophysics and chemistry. Over 11 million citations and selected abstracts from over 4,800 worldwide journals currently in 30 languages; 40 languages for older journals. This database can be searched via PubMed, EBSCOhost or Ovid. MEDLINE Daily Update is an Ovid database which acts as a holding place for the fully indexed items received from NLM on a daily basis until they are added to the full MEDLINE file at Ovid on a weekly basis. Once a year (usually at the end of November/beginning of December) this file can encompass several weeks of data while Ovid accomplishes their annual reload. MEDLINE In-Process & Other Non-Indexed Citations (PREM), provides basic information and abstracts before a record is indexed with MeSH heading(s) and added to MEDLINE. Records in PubMed are noted with an "In Process" tag, while these records are searchable as a separate database in Ovid. OLDMEDLINE provides citations to biomedical journal articles 1949 through 1965. Available in PubMed and Ovid. PubMed online training MEDLINE help (Ebsco) MEDLINE help (Ovid) |
