The LSU Health Sciences Center, School of Public Health, Health Policy & Systems Management department seeks an enthusiastic, successful faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non-tenure, research track). The LSU Health Sciences Center is located in beautiful New Orleans, Louisiana. It is the home of six schools and several Centers of Excellence, inclusive of Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center. The LSUHSC Schools of Public Health and Medicine are currently expanding their relationships with the Louisiana Department of Health through a Consortium for Health Transformation. This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing Schools.

Primary responsibilities of this position include serving as the Health Policy Director in the Consortium for Health Transformation, consultation to the Louisiana Department of Health, educating public health students, and conducting research. As the Health Policy Director, the candidate will provide strategic direction, policy expertise, research prioritization, and guidance in order to drive the State of Louisiana’s agenda on public health and improving health outcomes. As a consultant, key focus areas will include pharmaceutical policy and economic analysis.

  • Ph.D. in health economics, health policy, or a related field
  • Expertise in health policy
  • Commitment to serving publicly insured populations, to advancing population health, and eliminating disparities in health outcomes
  • Appointment at the Associate level requires demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publish results and demonstrated experience in mentoring and consultation

The LSU Health Sciences Center – New Orleans School of Public Health is one of six professional schools within the University. The School of Public Health (SPH) provides five Master’s level and three Ph.D. level programs in addition to its numerous research and service programs in order to advance the public’s health and well-being through education, research, and service, with a focus on issues affecting Louisiana.
