The successful candidate will be expected to teach biostatistics courses to majors and non-majors, advise biostatistics PhD/MS/MPH students, and contribute to the mission of the University and statistical profession. S/he is expected to establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program and actively participate in collaborative research.
There are two positions available.
The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans (LSUHSC-N.O.) is located within the biomedical district of New Orleans. It consists of six professional schools and twelve Centers of Excellence. The School of Public Health (SPH) provides five Master’s level and three PhD level programs in addition to its numerous research and service programs in order to advance the public’s health and well-being through education, research, and service, with a focus on issues affecting Louisiana. The SPH is also CEPH accredited and maintains a diverse research portfolio with a tradition of funding from NIH, CDC, and a variety of other state and federal agencies and private institutions.
The Biostatistics Program faculty have extensive research collaborations with other departments and research centers throughout the Health Sciences Center. We offer a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biostatistics and a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Biostatistics.
