The Department of Psychiatry of the LSU Health Sciences Center has 9 openings for RN Clinical Associates to function as one of the 10 two-person Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Teams (referenced as Spoke Care Teams (SCT)). Each MAT Spoke Care Team will be staffed by the RN Clinical Associate 2, and a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP). The teams are located throughout the state of Louisiana as part of the 2 year project: Louisiana State Opioid Response Program (LaSOR). A team will be assigned to each of the 10 Local Governing Entity (LGE) catchment areas serving the parishes each LGE supports : (1) New Orleans/ Metropolitan Human Services District, (2) Baton Rouge/Capital Area Human Services District, (3) Houma/South Central Human Services Authority, (4) Lafayette/Acadiana Area Human Services District, (5) Lake Charles/Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority , (6) Pineville/Central Louisiana Human Services District, (7) Shreveport/Northwest Louisiana Human Services District, (8) Monroe/Northeast Delta Human Services Authority, (9) Hammond/Florida Parishes Human Services Authority, and (10) Metairie/Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority.
Each SCT will serve up to 100 patients being treated for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) by Office Based Opioid Treatment (OBOTs, also referred to as Spokes) providers. This program is in conjunction with an agreement between the State of Louisiana Office of Behavioral Health and LSUHSC-NO. Incumbent will provide assistance to the OBOT providers, regarding supporting access to MAT services such as, accessing resources for “ screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment” (SBIRT) services, addiction and related clinical assessment information, completing clinical and other care related information gathering tools, case coordination, and recovery support services, as well as assistance with other data collection and data entry as is necessary for ongoing monitoring and support regarding the delivery of appropriate evidence-based/informed ongoing patient care. Incumbent will work collaboratively with other project personnel in developing/supporting DATA waiver authorized prescribers, contracts, and consent for treatment. Incumbent will facilitate the timely access of on-site medical services and resources to patients, licensed clinical health professionals, and physicians in the clinics. All work will be performed in accordance with the laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of all applicable licensing and governmental agencies, LSUHSC, and with the guidelines set by the Assistant Secretary of the Office of Behavioral Health.
