The Department of Pathology at LSU Health, School of Medicine, in New Orleans (LSU-NO), LA is seeking a full-time faculty member with expertise in Cytopathology. Our Anatomic Pathology group is located at the brand new major clinical affiliate of LSU Health-NO, University Medical Center in New Orleans (UMC).
UMC is a 424 bed state-of-the-art academic hospital that opened in August of 2015 and is experiencing growth in all services, including FNA cytologic diagnosis. The Pathology Laboratory occupies over 40,000 sq. ft. in the Diagnostic and Treatment Tower. Duties will include administration of the Cytology Laboratory and supervision of cytotechnologists, including compliance and maintenance of accreditation of the laboratory, participation in the diagnostic service, teaching of residents and fellows, and the establishment of collaborative projects of translational research in areas of interest. Clinical duties at UMC will also include active participation in the general surgical pathology service. LSU Health-NO and UMC are members of the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium (LCRC) and ample opportunities for collaborative clinically relevant research exist.
Preferred candidates should qualify for academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor; however, qualified candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor will also be considered. Highly qualified applicants may also be considered for an Endowed Professorship to accompany the academic appointment.
