2021 Wishes from the COVID Front Lines
LSU Health New Orleans faculty and residents have been taking care of COVID patients at the front lines of the pandemic for most of 2020. They saved many lives, innovating new tools and techniques while also contributing to knowledge about potential therapies and drugs. They connected patients beyond the limits of medical care with their loved ones via mobile devices while providing a human touch. Some of our faculty slept in their cars, not seeing their own families for months for fear of bringing this insidious virus home. Their sacrifice, dedication, compassion, valor, bravery and courage are humbling and heroic. We wondered what their thoughts are as this heart-wrenching year comes to an end and what they wish for 2021. Here are a few.
